Ergan Mountain

Ergan Mountain is a 3,256-meter-high peak located within the boundaries of Erzincan Province place at the foothills of the Munzur Order Mountains. Due to its geographic location and natural beauty it holds significant importance for both nature tourism and winter sports. Located approximately 12 km from the center of Erzincan city Ergan Mountain occupies an advantageous position in terms of accessibility mountain.

Ergan Ski Center

Ergan Mountain is a rugged rocky peak shaped by tectonic movements of the East Anatolia Region. It lies under the influence of a continental climate and receives heavy snow precipitation during winter months. This characteristic gives it a high potential for snow retention creating ideal conditions for winter sports. The ecological structure of Ergan Mountain is enriched by various plant species and wild animals native to high-altitude areas.

In recent years investments have transformed Ergan Mountain into one of Türkiye’s premier winter tourism centers. With 12 km of ski slopes it offers suitable terrain for both amateur and professional skiers. In the region mountain skiing snowboarding snowkiting snowpark snowmobiling sledding and glacier climbing like are among the many winter sports that can be practiced.

In 2013 and 2016 Ergan Mountain hosted international mountain skiing competitions. Additionally in 2017 the "Ergan 2017 Mountain Skiing World Cup" was held in Erzincan increasing the region’s international visibility through this event.

The Ergan Ski Center located on Ergan Mountain is rapidly developing into one of Türkiye’s major ski centers. The ski center features lifts with lengths of 1,800 m 2,662 m and 2,455 m along with a telechair system with a capacity of 2,700 people per hour and a gondola system with a capacity of 1,000 people per hour. The ski center offers slopes suitable for both beginner skiers and professional athletes.

A two-stage telechair system has been installed at the ski center:

• Stage I: Begins at Ardıçlı Lake at an elevation of 1,740 meters and ends at Yayla Düzü at 2,340 meters. This stage features a 4-person bubble telechair with a length of 2,580 meters.
• Stage II: Starts at Yayla Düzü at 2,340 meters and extends to the summit at 2,950 meters. This section provides a 4-person bubble telechair with a length of 2,362 meters.

Ergan Mountain and the Ski Center are located 12 km from the center of Erzincan city and approximately 10–12 minutes from the airport only. Access to the ski center is provided via a dual-lane road with refuge lighting and asphalt hot-mix surface. The ski center offers day-use accommodation facilities while hotels in the center of Erzincan city also provide lodging options.

Ergan Mountain is not only ideal for winter sports but also for activities such as nature hiking camping off-road driving and photography. During Summer months visitors can enjoy walking through the unique natural landscape of the Munzur Mountain Range experiencing a deep connection with nature experience.
