Halil Ergin Ataman (born January 7, 1966, Istanbul) is a Turkish basketball coach. He has managed top-tier European clubs such as Anadolu Efes and Panathinaikos and has also served as the head coach of the Türkiye National Basketball Team. During his club career, he has won the EuroLeague championship three times.

Youth and Education
Ataman was born and raised in Istanbul. He completed his secondary education at Galatasaray High School.
After graduating from Galatasaray High School, he studied at the Faculty of Business Administration at Istanbul University. He also completed observation and internship programs in the United States, focusing on basketball coaching.
Coaching Career and Achievements
Ataman began his coaching career in the early 1990s with the youth teams of Efes Pilsen. He has coached several major clubs, including Beşiktaş, Galatasaray, and Anadolu Efes in Türkiye, as well as Montepaschi Siena in Italy. In 2002, he won the FIBA Saporta Cup with Siena. In 2012, he led Beşiktaş to a treble: the Turkish League, Turkish Cup, and EuroChallenge titles.
He took over Anadolu Efes in 2017 and won back-to-back EuroLeague championships in 2021 and 2022. In 2023, he signed with Panathinaikos and led the Greek club to another EuroLeague title in 2024, as well as the Greek Cup in 2025. Since 2023, he has been the head coach of Panathinaikos. Ataman served as the head coach of the Türkiye National Basketball Team from 2014 to 2016 and resumed the position in 2022. He led the team to the quarterfinals of the 2014 FIBA World Cup.
