Everest is a 2015 adventure film directed by Baltasar Kormákur and written by Simon Beaufoy and William Nicholson. The film is based on the real events of a climbing disaster on Mount Everest in 1996. It is a co-production between the United Kingdom, Iceland, and the United States. Plot
On the morning of May 10, 1996, two commercial climbing teams began their ascent to the summit of Mount Everest. Shortly afterward, they are caught in a sudden snowstorm. The climbers struggle to survive severe winds and freezing temperatures as they approach the summit. The film depicts the difficult conditions faced during this historic climb and the survival efforts of those involved.
