Fahriye Evcen Özçivit is a German-born Turkish film and television actress. She became known in Turkey with her roles in the TV series Yaprak Dökümü and Çalıkuşu, adapted from Reşat Nuri Güntekin's novels, and in the following years, she took part in various projects in both television and cinema.
Early Life and Education
Fahriye Evcen was born in Solingen, Germany, on June 4, 1986. Her mother is Circassian, and her father is of Turkish origin, having migrated from Kavala to Turkey during the Ottoman Empire. Her family has roots in Samsun. She experienced security concerns during her childhood due to the racist attacks in Germany in the 1990s.
Evcen completed her high school education in Germany and enrolled in the Sociology Department of Heinrich-Heine University in Düsseldorf. She moved to Turkey at the age of 19, then continued her education at the History Department of Boğaziçi University and graduated in 2014. In addition to Turkish, she speaks German, English and Spanish.
Career Development
She started her acting career in 2005 with the character of Pınar in the TV series Asla Unutma. In 2006, she played the character of Songül in the TV series Hasret. She became widely known with her role as Necla Tekin in the TV series Yaprak Dökümü, which aired between 2006-2010. This series was adapted from the novel of the same name by Reşat Nuri Güntekin.
Evcen, who stepped into the cinema with the movie Cennet in 2008, played the leading role in the romantic comedy Aşk Tutulması the same year. In 2013-2014, she took part in the TV series Çalıkuşu, also adapted from Güntekin's novel, as the character of Feride. This production had a decisive place in the actress's career.

Fahriye Evcen married actor Burak Özçivit on June 29, 2017 in Istanbul. The couple has two children: Karan Özçivit (b. 2019) and Kerem Özçivit (b. 2023). Evcen shares her private life with the media to a limited extent. She has also been active in the field of advertising. She has been the face of various brands and released a clothing collection with Koton. The brands she represents include Ülker Golf Bravo, L’Oréal Paris Elseve, Koton, Divanev and Prima.
