Ferdi Atuner (AA)
Ferdi Atuner, born on 1 January 1944 in Erzincan, is a Turkish stage, film and television actor and opera artist. He has also worked in the field of voice acting.
After completing primary and secondary education, Atuner turned to artistic training. He received vocal training at the Ankara State Conservatory. This educational phase shaped the early stage of his career around opera and performing arts.
Following his graduation, he began his professional artistic career as a member of the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet ensemble. He performed on stage for many years within this institution, participating in various opera productions and serving as part of its artistic staff.
In addition to his opera work, he was active in theatre. He performed at the Gülriz Sururi–Engin Cezzar Theatre, thereby continuing his career along a path that combined classical stage arts with dramatic theatre.
From the 1980s onward, he became more visible in film and television projects, expanding his screen career through TRT productions and period series. He took on numerous roles as a character actor.
He became widely recognized by television audiences through roles in various series and entertainment programs. He was especially known for his sketches alongside Levent Kırca in "Olacak O Kadar," where his diverse character portrayals reached broad audiences.
In later years, he continued to appear in family, comedy and period series. His television works include Çocuklar Duymasın, Reyting Hamdi, En Son Babalar Duyar, Ayrılsak da Beraberiz, Çılgın Bediş, Cennet Mahallesi, Bez Bebek, Papatyam, Yasemince and various seasonal projects.
He maintained his television career into the 2000s. In 2001 he appeared in the series Bizim Otel. In 2007 he portrayed the school principal in the first season of Bez Bebek. In subsequent years he continued to appear on screen in guest and supporting roles across various productions.
He also took on roles in films during different periods. Notable films include Dağınık Yatak (1984), Halkalı Köle (1986), Hanım (1988), Muhalif Başkan (2012), Abbas’ın Melekleri (2014), Meleklerin Mucizesi (2014), Erzurumlu Mümessil (2020) and Sünnet Çocuğu (2022). In the 1988 film Hanım he portrayed the character Agah.
In addition to his stage and screen acting, he engaged in voice acting. He participated in the voice casts of both domestic and foreign productions, broadening his career beyond performance alone.
He maintained his connection to the theatre stage in later years. He performed in the play Sersem Kocanın Kurnaz Karısı. In 2014 he took on the role of commissioner in the play Cimri.
Throughout an artistic career spanning approximately sixty years, Ferdi Atuner was active in opera, theatre, television, film and voice acting. In Türkiye he is particularly known for his character acting and multifaceted stage career.
Ferdi Atuner died on 22 April 2026 at the age of 82. His family announced that the cause of death was a heart attack.
