Ayak İşleri is a locally produced comedy series that aired on the GAİN platform over four seasons between 2021 and 2024. Starring Çağlar Çorumlu and Güven Murat Akpınar, the series draws attention for its focus on social and generational conflicts concealed beneath its humor. Through its character-driven narrative and occasionally absurd plotlines, Ayak İşleri has established a distinctive place in contemporary Turkish television comedy.

Plot and Themes

The series centers on the experiences of two characters with vastly different personalities—Vedat and Evren—as they carry out various daily and seemingly trivial tasks for a wealthy businessman. Vedat, a seasoned and task-oriented “missionary,” and Evren, a member of Generation Z who exhibits politically correct attitudes, develop a relationship marked by conflict not only in their assigned duties but also in their personal values and approaches. Through unexpected assignments such as retrieving their employer’s lost dog or attending apartment meetings, the characters undergo internal transformations.

Directed by Caner Özyurtlu, the series explores character-based conflict at the script level while blending contemporary sociocultural references to highlight tensions between corporate work life and individual values. Ayak İşleri progresses within the more flexible formal structure typical of digital platforms, employing short episodes and limited spatial settings.

The central theme of the series is generational conflict and the modern individual’s search for belonging. Vedat embodies traditional notions of duty and commitment, while Evren reflects the critical and individualistic perspective of today’s youth. Concepts such as labor, obedience, personal freedom, and moral relativism are explored through humorous elements. The balance it strikes between absurdity and reality delivers social critique from beneath the surface.

Production

Caner Özyurtlu directed the series, with production handled by Chop Films and GAİN. As a Turkish production, the series was released in episodes of approximately 25 minutes each. Filming took place in various districts of Istanbul.

Since the series was released on a digital platform, it did not generate box office revenue. However, according to GAİN’s performance data, Ayak İşleri ranked among the platform’s most-watched productions between 2021 and 2023. It was also available on Netflix Türkiye and entered the list of the most-watched weekly series during the week of March 17–23, 2025.
