Fritt Vilt (Cold Prey) is a 2006 Norwegian horror and suspense film directed by Roar Uthaug. The film is about the struggle for survival of five young people stranded on a secluded mountain who encounter a psychopathic serial killer in an abandoned hotel.
Plot
Five friends who set out to snowboard in the mountains find themselves in a difficult situation when one of them breaks his leg. In the harsh conditions of winter, in an area without cell phone reception, their only shelter is an old, abandoned mountain hotel. However, they soon realize they are not alone. The hotel is the home of a serial killer who disappeared years ago, and the psychopath is anything but hospitable to his guests. As the young people begin to be hunted down one by one, they are forced to confront their fears to survive.

Thematic Structure
- Struggle Against Nature: The film explores the main characters simultaneously battling both a man-made threat and the merciless conditions of nature. This makes the suspense multi-layered.
- Isolated Fear: The characters' complete lack of connection to the outside world heightens the film's tension. This isolation reinforces the feeling of helplessness and minimizes the hope of escape.
- Punishment of City Elites: As a common theme in traditional slasher films, the young people, accustomed to the comfort of city life, are portrayed as powerless against nature and primal fear.
