Ginseng

Origin

The term "ginseng" entered Turkish from English, where it means "a plant of Chinese origin, ginseng". This term is derived from the Xiamen dialect of Chinese ginseng or the standard Chinese word rénshēn (人蔘), which carries the same meaning (ginseng).

• Pharmacognosy: Used to identify the chemical components and active substances of this plant, native to Far Eastern countries such as China, Japan and Korea.
• Phytotherapy: Used to describe the prescribing processes of herbal products commonly used in traditional medicine.
