Hayrat Foundation is a non-governmental organization that began its activities in 1974 to promote the reading, teaching, and dissemination of the Qur'an, as well as preserving national and spiritual values for transmission to future generations.
Establishment and Purpose
The foundation was established in 1974 in Isparta by Ahmed Hüsrev Altınbaşak, a student and deputy of Bediüzzaman Said Nursî. Its headquarters are located in the Küçükçekmece district of Istanbul. In line with its founding objectives, the foundation operates both nationally and internationally to promote, preserve, and integrate national and spiritual values into social structures. The foundation is known for its efforts centered on serving the Qur'an. To support this mission, a Qur'an printing press was established in Isparta, covering a closed area of 20,000 square meters.

Education and Publishing Activities
Hayrat Foundation conducts its activities with a focus on “faith and service to the Qur'an.” Its educational programs include:
- Qur'an and Tajwīd Reading Courses: These courses, held across Turkey, aim to enhance individuals’ ability to read and understand the Qur'an correctly.
- Ottoman Turkish Courses: Conducted in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education, these courses aim to make the written heritage of the Ottoman period accessible to younger generations.
- Periodic Weekly Lessons: Various lessons are held regularly on topics related to knowledge and spiritual development within the foundation.
- Qur'an Courses and Student Accommodation Services: Educational and lodging support is provided to students.
Hayrat Publishing and Printing Activities
The foundation's publishing activities are carried out under the brand Hayrat Publishing. The printing facilities in Isparta are used for publishing the Qur'an, Risale-i Nur Collection, and other religious texts.

Collaboration with Civil Society Organizations
Hayrat Foundation collaborates with civil society organizations at both the national and international levels.
- The Foundation for Volunteer Organizations of Turkey (TGTV): Hayrat Foundation is a founding member of TGTV and is represented in its board of trustees, administrative, and executive boards.
- The Union of NGOs of the Islamic World (UNIW): The foundation is also a founding member of this international union, supporting cooperation and solidarity across the Islamic world.
Islamic Unity Symposiums
Hayrat Foundation organizes national and international “Islamic Unity” symposiums to promote the ideas of unity, solidarity, and cooperation in the Islamic world. These symposiums provide a platform for academics, researchers, and civil society representatives to develop joint ideas and solutions.
Other Activities
- Panels, Conferences, and Visits: Informative events are organized in various cities and universities on social and religious topics.
- Risale-i Nur Service: The reading, understanding, transcription, and publication of the Risale-i Nur Collection is one of the foundation's primary areas of activity.
Hayrat Foundation has been active since its establishment in the fields of education, publishing, and social services. With a focus on Qur'an services, Ottoman Turkish education, and civil society cooperation, it continues to operate at both local and international levels.
