Hikmet Anıl Öztekin was born in 1989 in Istanbul. He is the first child of parents who were both educators. His academic orientation, shaped by an early interest in mathematics and physics during his high school years, continued with his enrollment in the Faculty of Naval Architecture at Istanbul Technical University. During his university years, he actively participated in various social responsibility projects.

University Period and Social Responsibility Activities

In 2006, Öztekin initiated the "Brother School" project at Istanbul Technical University, which became a model for many universities in Türkiye. He facilitated the establishment of classrooms and libraries in two primary schools in Diyarbakır. Additionally, he succeeded in banning cigarette sales on the Istanbul Technical University campus and founded projects aimed at assisting students in need, such as the İTU Clothing Room. For his contributions, he received various awards from organizations including Yeşilay, Sarıay, Toplum Gönüllüleri, and LÖSEV.

Professional Career and Literary Work

After graduating from university, Öztekin completed his military service in İskenderun. Subsequently, he began working for the Italian maritime company MSC but resigned after two years to pursue a career in writing and entrepreneurship. In 2013, he founded the establishment "Çayistanbul Kitap & Kafe" (Çayistanbul Book & Café).

His writing career began during his high school years with poetry. At the age of 26, he published his first book Elif Gibi Sevmek, which exceeded one million copies sold, becoming one of the best-selling books in Türkiye. This success was followed by "Elif Gibi Sevmek 2", "Eyvallah", "Eyvallah 2", and "Fesleğen". Each of his books has reached print runs exceeding 300,000 copies. His most recent book, "Ne İçin Varsan Onun İçin Yaşa", narrates a month he spent in Europe during his student years and the life changes resulting from an acquaintance he made during that time.

International Activities and Digital Presence

Öztekin has given over 250 seminars, with the majority held in European countries. His YouTube videos have amassed more than 130 million views, and he has reached over 8 million followers across social media platforms. His life philosophy advocates living a productive and conscious life, which he promotes through seminars, videos, books, and various content. Currently, he resides in Barcelona.

Civil Society Initiatives and Educational Activities

Öztekin contributed to the construction of water wells in 61 villages in Africa where access to water was previously unavailable. A project aimed at providing cataract surgeries to 10,000 people, scheduled for the fall of 2020, was postponed due to the pandemic. Additionally, prior to the pandemic, he taught courses on "Entrepreneurship" and "Social Responsibility" at a private university.
