Kavak Yelleri is a youth and drama series, adapted from the American teen series Dawson's Creek, which premiered on 31 May 2007. Produced by Tims Productions and directed by Kerem Çakıroğlu and Jale İncekol, the screenplay was written by Yiğit Güralp, Yılmaz Şahin, Nükhet Bıçakçı, Pınar Ordu, Gökhan Horzum and Ekin Atalar. The series ran for a total of five seasons.
Plot
The story begins in Urla and revolves around four close friends — Efe, Aslı, Deniz and Mine. As these teenagers approach the end of high school, they strengthen their friendships while confronting the challenges of life. The characters navigate between university, careers, love and dreams, eventually moving to Istanbul. New characters such as Atakan, Su and Güven enter their lives, and their confrontations with the past and decisions about the future deepen the series’ dramatic structure. Particularly, Efe’s return years after being presumed dead in an accident under a completely different identity alters the course of events and forces all the friendships to be reexamined.

Cast and Characters
- Pelin Karahan – Aslı Zeybek: Aslı is a strong and courageous young girl in the series. One of the leaders of the friend group, she is an emotionally deep and loyal character. Her love for Efe is one of the central pillars of the series.
- Aslı Enver – Mine Ergun: Mine is a fiery, ambitious and at times impulsive character. She is the energetic and passionate member of the friend group, playing a dynamic role through her ambitions and turbulent romantic life. Her journey of self-discovery and self-expression lies at the heart of her story.
- İbrahim Kendirci – Deniz Akça: Deniz is a smart, calm and intellectual young man, deeply devoted to books and the arts. He is honest and supportive toward his friends. His feelings for Aslı are particularly complex. In the series, he is the character who constantly seeks balance between logic and emotion.
- Dağhan Külegeç – Efe Kaygısız: Efe is a pure-hearted, well-intentioned and talented young man with a passion for music and his greatest dream of becoming a singer. Although he disappears after an accident and leads a different life, his connection with his old friends and his great love, Aslı, endures.
- Güven Karakuş – Sarp Apak: A character who enters Aslı’s life after Efe’s presumed death, becomes engaged to her, but later helps Efe and Aslı reunite upon learning that Efe is still alive.
- Metin Kaygısız – Ferit Aktuğ: Efe’s older brother. He works as a police officer in the series and is referred to as “Commissioner Metin Kaygısız.” His role within the family, his relationship with his brother and his loyalty to his family are central to his character.
- Su (Sultan) – Ceren Moray: Introduced as Atakan’s girlfriend, she gradually develops close relationships with characters such as Aslı, Deniz and Efe. Over time, she becomes part of the group, yet remains somewhat an outsider, maintaining an emotional distance.
- Atakan – Cemil Büyükdöğerli: Works alongside Efe and serves as a chef and kitchen supervisor. He is known for his respect for his work and discipline. Though initially distant, he gradually forms sincere bonds with Aslı, Deniz, Efe and others. His relationship with Su adds depth to his character.
