Kenan İmirzalıoğlu, born on June 18, 1974, in Üçem village, Bala district of Ankara, has taken part in various projects in television, cinema, and hosting, with a career extending from modeling to acting.
Family and Education
İmirzalıoğlu is the child of a family belonging to the Tabanlı Tribe of Bozulus Turkmens. His father is Mustafa İmirzalıoğlu, and his mother is Yıldız İmirzalıoğlu from Keskin district of Kırıkkale. Kenan İmirzalıoğlu, the youngest of three children, completed primary school in his birth village and middle and high school in Ankara with his aunt. He is a graduate of Çankaya Bahçelievler Deneme High School. He completed his university education in the Mathematics Department at Istanbul Yıldız Technical University.
In 1997, he won the first place in the Best Model of Türkiye competition, and then, representing Türkiye, he won the first place in the Best Model of the World competition, becoming the first Turkish male model to hold this title. Following this success, he received offers from the television and cinema industry.
Acting Career
He had his first acting experience in 1999 with the character Yusuf Miroğlu in the series “Deli Yürek”. In 2001, he also portrayed the same character in the film adaptation of the series, “Deli Yürek: Bumerang Cehennemi”. Later, between 2003 and 2005, he played the character Ferit Çağlayan in the series “Alacakaranlık”.
In 2004, he starred in the film “Yazı Tura”, winning the Best Actor award at the 2005 Altın Koza Film Festival for this film. Between 2005 and 2007, he played the lead role in the series “Acı Hayat”, and in 2006, he appeared in the film “Son Osmanlı Yandım Ali”, and in 2007, in “Kabadayı”. In 2009, he played the lead role as Akrep Celal in the film “Ejder Kapanı”.
He played the lead role in the series “Ezel”, which aired between 2009 and 2011, and in 2010, he won many awards for his performance in this series, including Altın Kelebek, İsmail Cem Television Awards, and the Sadri Alışık Jury Special Award. Between 2012 and 2015, he portrayed the character Mahir Kara in the series “Karadayı”, and for this role, he was selected as the Best Actor at the Antalya Television Awards in 2013. In 2017, he starred in the film “Cingöz Recai”, in 2018 in the series “Mehmed: Bir Cihan Fatihi”, and in 2020 in the series “Alef”.
Personal Life
Kenan İmirzalıoğlu married actress Sinem Kobal on May 14, 2016. The couple has two daughters named Lalin and Leyla.
