Kılınç 2000 Mega

Kılınç 2000 Mega is a semi-automatic pistol manufactured by the Turkish firearms company Sarsılmaz Silah Sanayi and preferred by domestic security forces as well as various international users.

History and Development

The design of the Kılınç 2000 Mega is based on the renowned Czechoslovakian "CZ-75" pistol. Kılınç pistols produced in Türkiye have been developed and manufactured domestically using local and national capabilities. The name "Kılınç" was chosen for its suitability to a firearm and its evocation of Ottoman heritage.

In tenders opened by the General Directorate of Security (GDS) and the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) to meet their pistol requirements, Sarsılmaz achieved significant success with the Kılınç 2000 Mega:

2011 GDS Tender

Sarsılmaz won the international pistol tender launched by the General Directorate of Security and supplied 40,000 units of the Sarsılmaz Kılınç 2000 Mega to police forces. As a result of this tender, the pistol became part of the standard-issue weapons for police officers. These pistols have a 15+1 round magazine capacity and cost approximately 320 TL each.

2013 TAF Procurement

The Undersecretariat for Defense Industries (SSM) signed a contract with Sarsılmaz AŞ to meet the Turkish Armed Forces’ service pistol requirements. Under this agreement, an initial batch of 8,600 Kılınç 2000 Mega pistols was delivered to the TAF. This marked a significant step as it was the first time the Undersecretariat procured a pistol with superior features from a domestic manufacturer.
