Kırşehir Ahilik Museum is located in the Ahi Evran Complex, in the city center of Kırşehir, which is situated in Türkiye's Central Anatolia Region. The museum shares the same area as the Ahi Evran Mosque and its tomb. The museum was completed and opened to visitors in 2023. Its opening took place as part of the 36th Ahilik Week events.

Architectural Features and Building Area

The Ahilik Museum has a total indoor area of 3600 square meters. It was built as a three-story building. The ground floor is arranged as the museum area. Reading areas, study sections, and workshop rooms are located on the lower and upper floors. Additionally, there are areas within the structure designated for food and beverage services.

Exhibited Works and Collection Content

The museum's collection displays various artifacts related to the Ahilik organization, Ahi Evran-ı Veli, and the Anatolian artisan tradition. These artifacts include production tools belonging to various professional groups, traditional handicrafts, period clothing, carpets, and manuscripts. The exhibited items reflect the historical process of the Ahilik structure.

Digital Presentation and Technological Infrastructure

Digital screens and interactive applications are utilized within the museum. One of the largest digital screens used in museology in Türkiye is located in this museum. Visitors can watch applications related to Ahilik in digital environments and virtually participate in various historical reenactments.

Documentation of Ahilik Culture

The Ahilik Museum has been organized to document the contributions of the Ahilik organization to the economic and social structure in Anatolia. The museum contains visual and written content on principles of production, solidarity, employment, and craftsmanship. Furthermore, information is provided about Ahi Evran-ı Veli, who is considered the master of 32 different professions, and other Ahis.

Institutional Contributions and Opening Process

The museum was constructed as part of the Ahi Evran Complex Project, initiated with the approval of the Presidency. During the project process, Kırşehir Governorship, Kırşehir Municipality, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye, the Central Union of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen Credit and Guarantee Cooperatives, and the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen collaborated. The museum was brought to life under the supervision of the Ministry of Trade.
