Klinker

Origin

The term "clinker" was adopted into Turkish from English, where it denotes "a hard layer formed on bricks at extremely high temperatures" and "burnt lime slag". This term entered Turkish via Dutch, from the word "klinker", which means "resonant" and carries the same meaning. The original root is the Dutch verb "klinken", meaning "to ring" or "to clang".
