Kulyas: The Price of the Curse is a 2019 Turkish horror film directed by Yunus Şevik. The film centers on the Kulyas demon tribe, imprisoned for centuries by the sorcerer Potifar, who gains freedom due to human greed and begins to threaten young people.

Plot

Centuries ago, the Kulyas demon tribe was imprisoned in a cave by the sorcerer Potifar. Due to human greed, they are released. Mureh, the leader of the demon tribe, makes a dangerous pact with humans: every year, they must offer a human sacrifice in exchange for Mureh’s chance to transform into a human. Along with these sacrifices, Mureh absorbs the greed of the victims and awaits new ones. Four young people—Anıl, Görkem, Beyza, and Defne—arrive in Mureh’s village for a photography competition. Unable to find a hotel, they seek help from the village elder, Kanber. After being accommodated in the guesthouse, the youths confront the brutality of the Kulyas demons. The nightmare begins when it is revealed that one of the youths is descended from the village’s lineage, and the group struggles to escape the demons’ violence.
