Design and Ergonomics
The MAM-15 is designed with a focus on shooter comfort and firing precision. Its adjustable stock and cheek rest allow adaptation to various user profiles. Both the trigger pull weight and grip distance can be adjusted according to the shooter's preferences. The recoil absorption system built into the stock reduces felt recoil, while the integrated monopod and adjustable bipod improve stability during firing.
Operational Use and Integration
The MAM-15 is actively used by the Turkish Armed Forces and the Gendarmerie General Command. It is especially preferred for neutralizing high-value targets such as armored vehicles, radar systems, and ammunition depots. Its compliance with NATO standards facilitates integration into international operations. Developed by MKE, the MAM-15 is Türkiye’s first indigenously designed and nationally produced anti-materiel sniper rifle. Chambered in 12.7×99 mm NATO, it is engineered for high-impact fire against armored targets. The MAM-15 was introduced at the IDEF fair in 2017 and entered mass production as of 2023.
Development and Production Process
The development of the MAM-15 began in the early 2010s, with the prototype unveiled at the 2017 IDEF fair. Prototype work was completed in 2019, and the rifle entered serial production in 2023. Its design was carried out at MKE’s Kırıkkale facilities, and the entire production process is conducted using fully domestic resources.
Significance
The MAM-15 stands as a key example of Türkiye’s localization and nationalization efforts in the defense industry. With its high precision, ergonomic design, and effectiveness against armored targets, it meets the demands of modern combat environments as a formidable anti-materiel sniper rifle.
