Plot

Determined to achieve his greatest ambition—the conquest of Constantinople—Mehmed demonstrates his intelligence and leadership against adversaries within his own court, Venetian pirates, and powerful figures such as the Çandarlı family. Production Process

Mehmed: Sultan of Conquests was produced by Miray Yapım and premiered on TRT 1 on February 27, 2024. Filming took place in Istanbul and at the Nour Cinema City studio in Iran. Nour Cinema City specially redesigned the same set previously used for a production about the life of Hz. Muhammed to suit the needs of this series. The filming of the first episode lasted 30 days, over 20,000 costumes were produced, and for the recreation of the conquest of Constantinople, 50 Ottoman siege cannons, 50 Hungarian cannons, and 50 ship-mounted cannons were constructed. A 500-member art team designed the sets and props using three-dimensional modeling. Director Şafak Bal emphasized the production’s commitment to historical accuracy, while producer Eyüp Gökhan Özekin highlighted the series’ mission to introduce Ottoman history to a global audience.
