Metonya is a fictional and humorous state created by the character Metin in the Turkish television series Leyla ile Mecnun. Within the series, Metonya carries both comedic and symbolic meaning and becomes the center of a series of events.

The emergence of Metonya occurs in the 2012 episode of Leyla ile Mecnun titled "Made in Metonya". In this episode, Metin declares the founding of his own state, announcing his political entity by offering rewards to those who wish to become citizens. This marks the first time Metonya’s narrative significance becomes evident. The establishment of Metonya is presented as an example of the series’ distinctive absurd humor.
