Mission: Impossible III (original title: Mission: Impossible III) is a 2006 American action spy thriller film directed by J.J. Abrams. The film centers on IMF agent Ethan Hunt as he confronts a dangerous arms dealer and fights to protect his life and his fiancée.

Plot

Secret agent Ethan Hunt has left his active duty with the IMF to begin a quiet, normal life away from the public eye with Julia Meade, his fiancée, who knows nothing of his past. However, his past refuses to let him go; his former colleague John Musgrave recruits him to track down Owen Davian, a ruthless arms trafficker. Davian is selling a mysterious and toxic weapon known as "the Rabbit's Foot," which appears impossible to capture. Ethan returns to duty to apprehend Davian, but Davian's reckless, merciless, and deadly nature directly threatens Ethan's life and the safety of his fiancée Julia. While pursuing Davian, Ethan must also protect his civilian life and keep Julia away from this dangerous world.

Mission: Impossible III is an American action spy thriller film directed by J.J. Abrams and written by Abrams alongside Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. Tom Cruise, J.J. Abrams, Paula Wagner, and Hai Cheng Zhao served as producers. The film was produced by Paramount Pictures, Cruise/Wagner Productions, and MI 3 Film. Running 2 hours and 6 minutes, the film premiered simultaneously in the United States and Türkiye on May 5, 2006. Principal photography took place at various locations including the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel (Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA). Daniel Mindel handled cinematography, Maryann Brandon and Mary Jo Markey edited the film, and Michael Giacchino composed the score.
