Naruto (Japanese: NARUTO - ナルト -) is a Japanese anime television series adapted from the manga of the same name created by Masashi Kishimoto and animated by Pierrot studio. The production’s character designs were developed by Tetsuya Nishio and Hirofumi Suzuki, while the music for the first season was composed by Toshio Masuda. It is a globally popular shōnen work featuring elements of action adventure fantasy and martial arts. In this universe ninjas harness a power source called Chakra which is a combination of physical and spiritual energy. By shaping chakra ninjas manifest supernatural abilities known as Jutsu. Jutsu are primarily divided into three categories:

The main character Naruto Uzumaki is a jinchūriki who was sealed with the Nine-Tailed Fox Demon (Kurama) during an attack on his village.

The story begins twelve years before the main events when the Fourth Hokage the leader of Konohagakure the Hidden Leaf Village sacrifices his life to seal the Nine-Tailed Fox Demon (Kurama) inside a newborn infant Naruto Uzumaki to save the village from destruction. Ostracized and feared by the villagers because of the beast within him Naruto grows up as an orphan who constantly causes trouble to gain attention. His greatest dream is to earn the respect and acceptance of everyone by becoming the Hokage the strongest ninja and leader of his village.

After barely graduating from the Ninja Academy Naruto is assigned to Team 7 alongside Sasuke Uchiha a talented but tragic ninja seeking revenge against his older brother who slaughtered their clan and Sakura Haruno a brilliant student who admires Naruto but is in love with Sasuke. Their sensei is Kakashi Hatake an experienced and mysterious Jōnin. The team encounters the harsh realities of the ninja world through dangerous missions and later competes in the deadly Chūnin Exams where talented youths from other villages also participate to advance in rank.

During the exams Orochimaru one of the village’s former dangerous rogue ninjas launches a large-scale attack on Konoha and begins manipulating Sasuke to defect to his side. Feeling his current strength insufficient to defeat his brother Sasuke decides to leave the village and join Orochimaru to gain greater power. Naruto pursues Sasuke to stop him and bring him back and after a fierce battle in the Valley of the End the two part ways with Sasuke successfully escaping. The first part of the story concludes with Naruto embarking on a two and a half year training journey with the legendary ninja Jiraiya to grow strong enough to retrieve Sasuke and face future threats.
