Necip Uysal was born on 24 January 1991 in İstanbul. He is 1.80 metres tall and weighs 72 kilograms. His position is recorded in club documents as midfielder【1】. Throughout various phases of his career, he also assumed responsibilities closer to the defensive line, with his on-field role adapting according to seasonal needs.
Necip Uysal’s football journey began at Bayrampaşa Yeniyolspor, encouraged by his older brother. This early phase marked the first step toward his eventual transition into a structured youth development system.
When he joined Beşiktaş’s youth system, he was only 12 years old. Through this transition, he developed within the club’s academy and became one of the players produced from Beşiktaş’s own talent pool.
He was first included in the senior team in 2008 during the tenure of head coach Ertuğrul Sağlam. His progression to the first team evolved through subsequent changes in coaching staff.
Following the appointment of Mustafa Denizli as head coach, he was assigned to the PAF (Prospective Professional Players) team. This period represented a phase of realignment within the senior squad’s planning structure.
He made his first official appearance for Beşiktaş on 24 October 2009, coming on as a substitute for Nihat Kahveci in the 89th minute during an away match against Eskişehirspor in the Süper Lig. Beşiktaş won the match 1–0.
Necip Uysal spent over 22 years at the club. Across all competitions, he made 466 appearances for Beşiktaş. This total reflects his long-term commitment to the club and his varying levels of involvement across different seasons.
While primarily a midfielder, he also played as a centre-back, right-back and left-back during his time with Beşiktaş. His versatility across multiple defensive roles was shaped by the tactical requirements of different coaching eras.
In his 466 appearances, he scored 6 goals. His goal output reflects a role primarily defined by defensive and midfield duties rather than attacking responsibilities.
Necip Uysal made a total of 76 appearances for Beşiktaş in European competitions, including qualifying rounds.
Of these 76 matches, 56 were in the UEFA Europa League, 13 in the UEFA Champions League, and 7 in the UEFA Conference League. This distribution aligns with Beşiktaş’s participation in various European tournaments across different periods.

He earned one cap for the Türkiye national football team. His only appearance came in a friendly match against Honduras on 3 March 2010, during which he came on as a substitute.
He was appointed captain of Beşiktaş at the age of 21 and held the role until 17 October 2025. During the 2025–2026 season, the club’s board, under President Serdal Adalı, removed him from the captaincy. Following this decision, the captaincy was assigned to Orkun Kökçü and Wilfred Ndidi.
During his Beşiktaş career, he worked with 18 different head coaches. These include Ertuğrul Sağlam, Mustafa Denizli, Bernd Schuster, Tayfur Havutçu, Carlos Carvalhal, Samet Aybaba, Slaven Bilic, Şenol Güneş, Abdullah Avcı, Sergen Yalçın, Önder Karaveli, Valerien Ismael, Burak Yılmaz, Rıza Çalımbay, Serdar Topraktepe, Fernando Santos, Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. He had a second stint under Sergen Yalçın.
He played under six different presidents during his time at Beşiktaş. These are Yıldırım Demirören, Fikret Orman, Ahmet Nur Çebi, Hasan Arat, Hüseyin Yücel and Serdal Adalı.
At the start of the 2024–2025 season, he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury during training. After surgery, he was unable to play for eight months. This injury directly affected his match availability during the subsequent period.
In the two seasons following his return from injury, he played a total of 6 matches, accumulating 146 minutes on the pitch. This data indicates a limited match load during his recovery phase.
His most recent league appearance in Beşiktaş colours was away against Kayserispor on 24 September 2025. He started the match on the bench and entered the field in the 80th minute, replacing Jonas Svensson. Beşiktaş won the match 4–0.

During his Beşiktaş career, he won a total of 8 trophies: 3 Süper Lig titles, 3 Türkiye Kupası titles and 2 TFF Süper Kupası titles.
Necip Uysal stated that he was informed by Beşiktaş that he would no longer be part of the club’s football plans and that he was expected to find a new team. He emphasized that no direct conversation took place with him during this process. He also noted that the same request was made to national team goalkeeper Mert Günok.
In his statement, he announced his intention to retire from professional football at the end of the season. He affirmed that he would continue training with the club until the end of the season in the same manner and under the same conditions as before, and that he intended to conclude his career wearing the Beşiktaş jersey. He added that his request to retire in Beşiktaş colours at the end of the season was not granted, and that attempts to establish meaningful communication with head coach Sergen Yalçın were unsuccessful.
