Turkiye-based indigenous social media platform NSosyal was developed through a collaboration between TEKNOFEST volunteers, 2N Media Inc., the Türkiye Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation), and Baykar. The platform aims to establish a human-centered digital interaction ecosystem, built on a framework grounded in ethical values, data security, and digital freedom. NSosyal seeks to ensure users experience equal opportunities in content creation and sharing under its principle of being “ad-free and censorship-free.”

The foundations of NSosyal were laid by the TEKNOFEST generation, a youth movement in Türkiye defined by its technology-focused ethos. Developed with the support of the Türkiye Technology Team Foundation, the platform was opened to the general public on 23 July 2025. This date is regarded as a turning point in Türkiye’s social media landscape, marking the launch of a native, nationally grounded social media platform.

The development team designed the platform not merely as a space for social interaction but also as a hub for production, sharing, and community building. This approach created a structure focused on “real conversations, not artificial interactions,” centered on a human-driven digital world.

NSosyal is a scalable and secure social network platform built entirely on its own software infrastructure. Its system architecture is designed around local data center hosting, high-performance server infrastructure, and robust protection of user data. Thanks to its original interface design and integration with T3 AI, the platform offers advanced solutions in content management, moderation, and user experience.

When introducing NSosyal, Selçuk Bayraktar emphasized that it was developed by the youth described by the TEKNOFEST generation as “the sun-faced children of civilization.” According to his statements, this generation has become the carrier of Türkiye’s vision of complete independence in social media technologies, just as it has in the defense industry.

Bayraktar highlighted that the platform can be used beyond national borders, stating that its goal is “first active use in Türkiye, then in friendly and brotherly countries within the cultural sphere.” This vision is closely linked to the objective of developing large language models capable of understanding Turkish.

Selçuk Bayraktar stated, “We do not want models translated from English; we want to build large language models that truly understand and speak Turkish.” This declaration confirms that NSosyal was developed with integrated Turkish natural language processing technologies. These statements reveal that the platform is not merely a communication channel but a technological infrastructure fully integrated with the T3 AI Turkish artificial intelligence model.

The “Media Mode” is designed to be one of NSosyal’s most dynamic features. This module provides an optimized streaming experience for visual, video, and GIF content. Users can browse content seamlessly on the discovery screen, while creators can reach broader audiences with their posts. Media Mode serves as a foundational component that strengthens the platform’s visually intensive structure.

NSosyal user profiles function as digital showcases, not only displaying personal information but also including educational background, projects, and areas of social contribution. Users can share their achievements, volunteer activities, and societal contributions within these sections.

The direct messaging feature provides secure communication through end-to-end encryption. Users can create one-on-one or group chats and preserve data privacy using time-limited message options. This structure reflects the platform’s commitment to data security.

The platform supports the creation of communities based on shared interests. As of 2025, new modules such as community-based content creation, event discovery, a points system, and a mini-app ecosystem are planned for development. In the future, payment systems, digital wallets, and commercial services are also targeted for integration.

The concept of “transparency” was prioritized in the development of NSosyal. The T3 Foundation aims to create an independent space in response to digital monopolization on social media. Bayraktar stated, “There are platforms designed to drive society apart. We want to build a clean social media environment.”

The Turkish artificial intelligence model named T3 AI has been integrated into NSosyal. This model interacts with users by being tagged in their posts, enriching the platform’s user experience through natural language processing technology. Additionally, algorithms developed for detecting disinformation and false information are planned to be adapted to NSosyal by young engineers.

Shortly after its launch, NSosyal was adopted by numerous public institutions. The Presidency of Communication opened an official account on the platform, stating, “We are also present on our national and domestic social media platform.” Presidency of Communication Director Burhanettin Duran described the platform as “a safe space where we can come together around shared values.”

During this period, ministries, defense industry institutions, and universities also joined the platform. Anadolu Agency, TRT, and various public institutions began sharing official content through NSosyal. Thus, NSosyal has assumed the role of a domestic digital infrastructure enabling direct communication between public institutions and the public.

Shortly after its launch, NSosyal experienced rapid user growth. In July 2025, it became the most downloaded app in the “Social Networks” category on the App Store. This development demonstrated for the first time that a domestic alternative to foreign social media applications could reach such a broad user base.

By August 2025, the platform had reached 500,000 users, and countdowns began toward the one million user milestone. During this period, the T3 Foundation organized various reward campaigns to increase user participation. As part of these efforts, technological gifts were awarded to the one millionth user.

NSosyal has become a platform not only for institutions but also for cultural and sporting communities. In August 2025, the four major Turkish football clubs—Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, and Trabzonspor—opened official accounts on the platform. Consequently, the clubs’ posts migrated to the domestic social media environment.

This development demonstrated that NSosyal is not merely a technological project but a structure that has transformed into a broad social interaction network.

Selçuk Bayraktar stated that NSosyal will not remain confined within the boundaries of social media and will, in the long term, evolve into a “super app.” Within this system, integration of e-commerce, transportation, digital wallets, and news services is planned.

Bayraktar said, “A digital network capable of reaching two billion people in friendly and brotherly regions can be established. We are building this system not to make money but to construct our digital independence.” This vision is directly linked to Türkiye’s goal of technological sovereignty.

During the development of NSosyal, Turkish natural language processing systems were combined with AI-based content verification and disinformation detection algorithms. Young engineers from the TEKNOFEST generation played an active role in this process.

NSosyal is defined as Türkiye’s first comprehensive platform based on a domestic infrastructure in the field of social media. Its open-source structure, integration with Turkish language models, and broad participation ranging from public institutions to sports clubs have added a new dimension to national debates on digital sovereignty.

This project, a product of the TEKNOFEST generation, is viewed as an effort to create an independent ecosystem in social media. As of 2025, it has continued its development in both technical and social dimensions, contributing to the redefinition of digital communication in a domestic and human-centered manner.
