PARS III 8x8; a tactical wheeled armored combat vehicle designed for use in both low- and high-intensity combat environments of the modern battlefield, distinguished by its superior mobility and survivability features. Developed by FNSS, this vehicle incorporates some of the most advanced armored vehicle technologies of today and provides its users with multi-role operational capabilities. The PARS III 8x8 can be transported by land, air (A400M, C-17 and C-5 type aircraft), sea, and rail.

Mobility

The PARS III 8x8 is equipped with a diesel engine and a fully automatic 7 forward, 1 reverse transmission. The vehicle can achieve a maximum speed of 100 km/h and can traverse terrain with up to 60% gradient and 30% side slope. It has the capability to climb 70 cm vertical obstacles and cross 2 m wide trenches, with an optional amphibious capability. The vehicle’s turning radius is less than 8 m, all axles are drivable, and can be locked when required. The suspension system is a dual-wishbone, height-adjustable, independent hydro-pneumatic design.

Survivability and Life Support Systems

The PARS III 8x8 is designed to meet STANAG 4569 ballistic and mine protection standards (protection levels classified). Eight smoke grenade launchers, an automatic fire suppression system, CBRN protection, and climate control systems are standard equipment. Fuel tanks are specially protected against explosion and penetration, and an additional fuel tank is located beneath the armor. Solid disk inserts within the wheels enable the vehicle to continue mobility even with punctured tires.

Situational Awareness and Command and Control

The driver’s cabin provides a wide field of view with 180° horizontal visibility and large panoramic periscopes. Night and day vision cameras, a battlefield management system, navigation system, and VHF/UHF radio systems are standard. The electrical system complies with MIL STD 1275 and MIL STD 461 standards, with an optional auxiliary power unit (APU) available for mission equipment.

Powertrain and Mission Equipment

The subsystems of the PARS III 8x8 are modular and mounted on a mine-protected hull. This design enables rapid and easy field replacement of running gear and powertrain components. The powertrain can be removed and reinstalled in less than 60 minutes, enhancing the vehicle’s operational continuity and mission effectiveness.

The vehicle supports integration of various types of manned or remotely controlled weapon stations and/or missile systems from different origins. Standard 360° situational awareness systems and driver vision systems provide the crew with high levels of environmental awareness and control.

It is equipped with a SABER 25 turret featuring a 25 mm automatic cannon with stabilization, available in manned or remotely controlled configurations, and has a crew capacity of 11 or 12 personnel including commander, gunner, and driver.

TTZPT is the Tactical Wheeled Armored Personnel Carrier variant of the PARS III 8x8 family. It is fitted with a single SANCAK 12.7 mm remotely controlled weapon station and has a crew capacity of 12 personnel including commander, gunner, and driver.

TTZKA is the Tactical Wheeled Armored Reconnaissance Vehicle variant of the PARS III 8x8 family, featuring a two-man turret. It is equipped with a TEBER turret featuring a 30 or 35 mm automatic cannon with stabilization, available in manned or remotely controlled configurations, and has a crew capacity of 7 personnel (manned turret) or 11 personnel (remotely controlled turret), including commander, gunner, driver, and reconnaissance team.

TTZHA is the Tactical Wheeled Armored Howitzer Vehicle variant of the PARS III 8x8 family. It integrates 81 mm or 120 mm howitzer systems mounted on a rotating platform, enabling firing after opening large hatches on the hull. A SANCAK remotely controlled or roof-mounted machine gun provides defensive capability. The vehicle has a crew capacity of 4 personnel including commander, driver, and two howitzer operators.

This variant of the PARS III 8x8 family is configured as an Armored Command Post Vehicle. It is equipped to carry command personnel at battalion or brigade level along with integrated mission equipment and can function as a fire direction center when required.
