Platform 2 (El Hoyo 2) is a Spanish science fiction thriller film directed by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia and released to audiences in 2024. This sequel continues the dystopian universe of the first film, exploring the struggle for survival within a vertical prison system and examining the limits of social solidarity from multiple perspectives.

Plot

The film follows the story of prisoners forced to take their daily portion of food from a single platform that passes through the center of their cell once a day. Once a month, the level of the cell where prisoners are held changes, determining whether they awaken in higher levels with access to food and a semblance of freedom or are condemned to lower levels to face endless hunger and misery. The narrative centers on a new inmate who joins the controversial resistance against this brutal feeding system. Viewers are confronted with the question of how far one can go to save their life in a place where eating from the wrong tray can result in death.
