Rami Library

The Rami Library, a new addition to Istanbul's culture life, stands out as one of Türkiye's largest and modern libraries. Born from the restoration of the historic Rami Barracks, a building, the library preserves traces of the past while offering a vision for the future.

History and Architecture

The Rami Library was realized through the restoration of the Rami Barracks, a historic structure deeply integrated into Istanbul's historic fabric and possessing centuries-old roots. This architectural landmark, bearing the hallmarks of Ottoman design, has been transformed into a modern library that safeguards the values of the past while equipping itself with contemporary technologies. The library’s spacious and unusual interior spaces provide readers with a pleasant and inviting work environment.

The Rami Library boasts a rich and diverse collection. Thousands of books, journals, article and visual materials line its shelves. The library maintains a broad spectrum of materials catering to various age groups and interests. It includes resources ranging from Child books to academic works, from art titles to scientific publications, across many different subjects. The library not only provides users with access to only books but also encompasses a wide range of services, including:

• Study areas: Various study spaces are available for both individual and group work.
• Computer and internet access: Free internet access is provided for students and researchers.
• Access to e-books and databases: Users can remotely access the library’s electronic resources.
• Cultural events: Conferences, seminars, workshops and exhibitions are regularly organized.

The Rami Library strives to become one of Türkiye’s most important information and cultural centers.
