Robert Lewandowski was born on August 21, 1988, in Warsaw, the capital of Poland. Known for his achievements in his football career, Lewandowski is also the captain of the Polish national team.
Family and Early Life
Lewandowski's father, Krzysztof, was a Polish judo champion and played football for Hutnik Warsaw. His mother, Iwona, is a former volleyball player for AZS Warsaw and served as the club's vice-president. His sister, Milena, is also a volleyball player and played for the Poland U21 national team. Robert Lewandowski married Anna Stachurska on June 22, 2013; Anna won a bronze medal at the 2009 Karate World Championships. The couple have two daughters, Klara and Laura.
Football Career
Lewandowski's football career began at Znicz Pruszków in Poland. His impressive performances there attracted attention, and he subsequently transferred to Lech Poznań. At Lech Poznań, he won the Ekstraklasa championship in the 2009-2010 season and was the league's top scorer with 18 goals.
In 2010, Lewandowski transferred to Borussia Dortmund, where he achieved great success. With Dortmund, he won two Bundesliga championships and reached the 2013 UEFA Champions League final. In 2013, he made history by scoring four goals against Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final.
Joining Bayern Munich in 2014, Lewandowski experienced a Bundesliga championship every year during his eight seasons at the club. In 2020, following a season delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he won the UEFA Champions League with Bayern. That same year, he achieved a historic treble, also winning the Bundesliga, German Cup, and UEFA Super Cup.
In July 2022, Lewandowski transferred to FC Barcelona in Spain. In his first season, he won the La Liga championship and the Super Cup. He also won the Pichichi Trophy as the league's top scorer.
Lewandowski made his debut with the Polish national team in 2008. With 85 goals for the national team, he is Poland's all-time top scorer. He represented Poland in the 2012, 2016, 2020 and 2024 European Championships and the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
Lewandowski has won numerous awards throughout his career. He won the FIFA The Best award in 2020 and 2021 and came second in the Ballon d'Or in 2021. He won the European Golden Shoe in the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 seasons. He also won the IFFHS World's Best Top Goal Scorer award in 2021.

Lewandowski is known for his strong physique, his control in the air, and his goalscoring ability. Able to use both his right and left foot effectively, Lewandowski has scored many hat-tricks and important goals throughout his career.
Personal Interests
Outside of football, Lewandowski enjoys tennis, golf, and motorsports. He also attended the Monaco Grand Prix as a special guest of the Aston Martin team in Formula 1. A Catholic, Lewandowski met Pope Francis in 2014.
