Life and Education

Cenk Baş, stage name Semicenk, was born on October 7, 1998 in Boyabat, Sinop. He is from Adana on his mother's side and Ordu on his father's side. He was born in Sinop while his father was serving as a gendarmerie petty officer. His interest in music started with the guitar that his mother gave him as a gift and over time he learned to play instruments such as oud and piano. He graduated from Ordu University, Department of Music and Performing Arts.

Career

Semicenk began his music career in 2019 by participating in the "O Ses Türkiye" (The Voice Türkiye) competition broadcast on TV8. He was part of Hadise's team in the competition and advanced to the semi-finals.

He made his debut with the songs "Yüzü Tanıdık Değil" (His Face Is Not Familiar) and "Kalbim Usandı" (My Heart Is Tired). He gained significant recognition with his single "Düşer Aklıma" (Comes to My Mind), released in December 2021. This track reached more than 100 million listens in two years.

In his career, he has collaborated with artists such as Funda Arar, Mustafa Ceceli, Reynmen and Ziynet Sali. In 2022, he released his EP titled “Aşırı Doz” (Overdose).

In 2023, he won the "Best Breakthrough Artist" award at the 49th Golden Butterfly Awards, and his song "Pişman Değilim" (I Don't Regret), performed with Doğu Swag, was deemed "Song of the Year."
