

Simge Şebnem Aköz was born on 23 April 1991 in Samsun, Türkiye. She is a Turkish citizen and represents Türkiye in international volleyball competitions.
Aköz began playing volleyball at the age of seven and started her career with İstanbul Artvin Spor Kulübü. She later played for Ünsped Spor Kulübü (2005–2010), Yeşilyurt (2010–2014), Çanakkale Belediyespor (2014–2015), and Halkbank (2015–2016). Since the 2016–2017 season, she has been a member of the Eczacıbaşı Dynavit team and continues her career with this club.
Simge Aköz plays as a libero for the Türkiye women's national volleyball team. Throughout her national team career, she has participated in various international tournaments and achieved significant successes. She won bronze medals at the 2017 European Championship, the 2021 European Championship, silver medals at the 2018 FIVB Nations League and the 2019 European Championship, and gold medals at the 2023 FIVB Nations League and the 2023 European Championship.
Simge Aköz plays as a libero in her volleyball career. The libero is a defensive position responsible for reception and defense in the back row.
