Süleyman Çobanoğlu, born in 1967 in the village of Üçkuyu, district of Sultandağı, Afyon, is a poet, writer, and screenwriter. Having lost his mother at the age of one, Çobanoğlu completed primary school in his village and then attended Ankara Atatürk High School and Afyon High School as a scholarship student. He later graduated from the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences at Dokuz Eylül University in İzmir. In 1991, he settled in Istanbul and worked in various jobs.

Çobanoğlu began his literary career with poetry; his first poems were published in 1990. That same year, he received a poetry award from the Turkish Language Association. His poetry exhibits a concern for form and adheres closely to the syllabic tradition. From 1990 onward, his poems appeared in the journals Dergâh and Nar. In 1995, he won the Turkish Writers’ Union Poetry Award with his first poetry collection, Şiirler Çağla. His second poetry collection, Tamgalar, was published in 2019. Çobanoğlu has also produced works in the essay genre, including the books Yobazlığa Övgü (1997) and Aşk ile Hain Kardeş (1997). Additionally, he published another poetry book titled Hudayinabit in 2015.

Throughout his career, the poet Süleyman Çobanoğlu has consistently expressed his sensitivity to the Turkish language and shown meticulous care in its usage across all his works.

Poet İsmet Özel, in an article written for the November 1995 issue (No. 69) of Dergah Magazine about Süleyman Çobanoğlu, wrote:

"Süleyman Çobanoğlu, with his craftsmanship, managed to flow over the obstacle of mushkülpesentlik. The fact that he found a poetic title for his collection cannot overshadow the reality that poetry has arrived. Consider how many meanings Şiirler Çağla holds! From the blossoming of the poems, to the poems rooted in the concept of 'çağla', from there to poems born of the very notion of 'çağ', you can move to countless other realms. Good poets do not need such doping-like titles.

Poetry has arrived. Not because he revived the syllabic meter or anything similar. The idea that poetry is built upon form and above form has always been an inseparable part of our tradition. Süleyman Çobanoğlu simply restored this element after a long absence. He could have gradually abandoned his place in the dead end. But as he entered the dead end, the focal points transformed into various points, each one gradually included in the widening angle of his backward walk.

In addition to his poetry and essays, Süleyman Çobanoğlu has also been active in television. He produced and hosted numerous culture-focused programs on Kanal 7. He became widely known to the public through his series Kalp Gözü. As a screenwriter, Çobanoğlu has contributed scripts to various projects, including the popular television series Sakarya Fırat, Kızıl Elma, and Savaşçı. He also wrote the screenplay for the series Kılıç Günü. For a period, Çobanoğlu wrote daily columns for Milli Gazete, and his poems were published in İtibar Magazine, under the editorial direction of İbrahim Tenekeci.
