tabii (Platform)

tabii is an international digital broadcasting platform established under the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT). Built using TRT’s broadcasting infrastructure, the platform operates as an initiative targeting the global digital broadcasting market. Its core slogan has been defined as “Stories That Unite Us.”

The platform was unveiled on 2 May 2023 at the Beykoz Kundura Factory in Istanbul and opened to users on 7 May 2023. TRT General Director Mehmet Zahid Sobacı described its purpose as “creating a new medium in the digital space” and “becoming an international brand for Türkiye.”

The platform hosts over 60 original productions, more than 600 films and series, documentaries, and programs, totaling over 22,000 hours of content.

Content spans various genres including action, comedy, historical drama, animation, romantic comedy, crime, youth series, films, series, and documentaries.

• Original Productions: The platform hosts over 60 original productions, including series such as Gassal, Marnalı, Çırak, Cihangir Cumhuriyeti, % İki, and Persona.
• Foreign Films and Series: The platform also offers licensed films and series popular on the international stage.
• TRT Archive and Classics: Content from TRT’s archives and productions from channels such as TRT 1, TRT 2, and TRT Belgesel are also available on tabii.
• Children’s Content: Animation, cartoons, and educational videos aimed at children are available, including productions from TRT Çocuk.

As the platform was established with an international audience in mind, it offers multiple language options. It broadcasts in Turkish, English, Spanish, Urdu, and Arabic.

Users can access tabii through the www.tabii.com website, as well as via mobile applications available on Google Play and the App Store.

tabii offers users both free and Premium subscription options.

• Free Access: The free subscription allows users to access live broadcasts of TRT channels and current and archived content with advertisements.
• Premium Package: A Premium subscription is required to watch original productions and all other content without advertisements. The monthly fee for this package is set at 99 TL. The Premium package provides ad-free content, the ability to rewind and watch TV channels up to 24 hours back, offline viewing through downloads, and high-quality video options.

• Tournaments: Matches from the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Conference League, and UEFA Super Cup are available on the tabii platform.
• Broadcast Period: These competitions will be broadcast on tabii and relevant TRT channels (TRT 1, TRT Spor, TRT Spor Yıldız, TRT Radyo 1) for three years starting from the 2024–2025 season.
• Access Conditions (Türkiye): Matches involving Turkish teams in UEFA competitions can be viewed free of charge only within the borders of Türkiye. To watch all other matches in UEFA competitions, a Premium subscription is required.
