TCG Oruçreis (F-245)

TCG Oruçreis (F-245) is one of the Barbaros-class frigates in the inventory of the Turkish Navy. The vessel has been designed as a modern platform enabling the Navy to effectively carry out maritime security, reconnaissance and surveillance, and patrol missions. Under the Mavi Vatan doctrine, it plays a strategic role in Türkiye’s maritime areas.

Modernization and Usage

TCG Oruçreis has been upgraded under the Barbaros-class Frigate Mid-Life Modernization (MLM) program with modern sensor and weapon systems. Thanks to this modernization, the vessel has achieved enhanced capability to provide effective protection against air, surface and underwater threats. Additionally, the frigate contributes to reconnaissance and surveillance missions in the Mediterranean, thereby enhancing the operational capabilities of the Turkish Navy.

Mission Areas

TCG Oruçreis is actively employed in reconnaissance, surveillance and patrol missions, particularly in the eastern Mediterranean, under the Mavi Vatan doctrine. The modernization efforts have enabled the vessel to perform all its assigned missions safely and effectively.
