TEBER 30 Two-Person Tower

TEBER 30, developed by FNSS, is a medium-caliber weapon system with a two-man conventional turret design, integrable into both wheeled and tracked armored vehicles. The commander and gunner are positioned together within the turret. This design offers significant advantages in terms of enhanced situational awareness, effective use of fire power, and control of the battlefield, particularly when the vehicle commander continues to perform their duties inside the vehicle. The effective communication between the commander and gunner in the two-man turret enables more accurate and efficient targeting.

Technical Specifications

The TEBER 30 Two-Man Turret is armed with a 30 mm Mk44 dual-feed automatic cannon capable of a rate of fire of 200 rounds per minute. Primary ammunition includes high-explosive, armor-piercing, and programmable air-burst rounds. Programmable ammunition, in particular, enables effective engagement of targets behind cover. The turret is equipped with a dual-compartment ammunition box, allowing alternating use of different ammunition types.

TEBER 30 is also compatible with “SuperShot 40 mm (40x180 mm)” ammunition, enabling conversion to the 40 mm caliber while retaining the same ammunition box and projectile pathways as the 30 mm system. This feature provides the advantage of increased firepower with the same ammunition load.

As a secondary weapon system, the turret is fitted with either a 7.62 mm Mk52 electrically driven machine gun or a gas-operated machine gun, carrying 1,000 rounds of ammunition. Key advantages of the electrically driven machine gun include automatic ejection of unfired rounds to prevent jams and reduced exposure to toxic propellant gases.

On each side of the turret, four forward-facing 76 mm smoke grenade launchers are installed and can be replaced with launchers of different calibers upon user request.

Mechanical and Electronic Systems

TEBER 30 provides two-axis stabilization via an electric drive system. The turret offers 360° continuous traverse and an elevation range of -10° to +45°. It delivers high maneuverability with maximum traverse and elevation speeds of 60°/second and acceleration exceeding 1.5 rad/s².

The two-axis stabilized independent sight system integrates long- and mid-wave thermal cameras, wide- and narrow-field-of-view daylight cameras, and a laser rangefinder. An automatic target tracking system is integrated. A separate two-axis stabilized 360° panoramic sight with commander-over-ride capability is also provided for the commander.

In emergency situations, the turret’s drive, firing, and sighting systems can continue operating independently of the vehicle’s batteries, thanks to an independent power supply and intelligent power distribution system.

Protection and Durability

The TEBER 30’s hull provides ballistic protection compliant with STANAG 4569 standards, using welded aluminum armor combined with composite and steel armor components. The turret weight is below 3,850 kg.
