TEKNOFEST is Türkiye's largest organization in the fields of aviation, aerospace, defense industry, and advanced technology. Organized since 2018 under the leadership of the Türkiye Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation) and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, this festival aims to encourage the youth toward technology, support the national technology initiative, and strengthen Türkiye’s position in the global technology landscape. Beyond being merely a technology festival, TEKNOFEST also seeks to contribute to the nation’s progress in science and engineering.

The UAV Competition is one of TEKNOFEST’s most prominent events. Participants design and develop unmanned aerial vehicles to complete specific tasks defined by the competition. UAV competitions symbolize Türkiye’s technological progress in aviation and are considered vital for attracting young engineers to the sector. Winning projects often receive demand from institutions such as the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) and are subsequently adopted for military use.

Rocket competitions are a key initiative accelerating Türkiye’s progress in space technologies. Young engineers strive to reach designated altitudes using rockets they have designed themselves. Successful projects in these competitions are evaluated for their potential to contribute to broader space research and are sometimes transferred to industry. The 2022 competitions enabled teams designing high-altitude rockets to gain international recognition.

Artificial intelligence and robotics competitions aim to showcase the talents of young participants in fields regarded as the technologies of the future. Contestants design and develop robots capable of performing specific tasks. Projects in this domain have broad applications, ranging from improving industrial automation to innovative healthcare solutions. For example, in 2022, a UAV project was acquired by the Presidency of Defense Industries and put into operational use.

In commemoration of the Republic’s 100th anniversary, TEKNOFEST 2023 was held across three cities: Istanbul, Ankara, and İzmir.
