The first day of TEKNOFEST Southeast was held on 30 September 2026 at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport. On the opening day, the 11th International Invention Fair-TÜRKPATENT ISIF'26 was inaugurated with a ceremony, the "Experience" exhibition was opened to visitors, and a science show for children was organized.
Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT) organized the 11th International Invention Fair-TÜRKPATENT ISIF'26 this year under the hosting of TEKNOFEST Southeast and officially opened it on 30 September 2026. The fair is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, hosted by TÜRKPATENT, and supported internationally by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the European Patent Office (EPO).
Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Muhammet Kasım Gönüllü stated in his speech at the ceremony that bringing together the enthusiasm of young people for technology and the efforts of inventors under one roof strengthens the nation's confidence in its future. Gönüllü drew attention to the fact that humans who were chipping stones on these lands 12,000 years ago are now training artificial intelligence, saying: "Tools have changed, but the human determination to find something better has not. Today, a country's strength is determined not by its resources but by the ideas it produces and its ability to protect those ideas and turn them into products."
Gönüllü emphasized that countries unable to develop their own technology are doomed to become markets for others, adding: "Under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, over the past 24 years, with the National Technology Initiative vision, we have transformed Türkiye from a country that consumes technology into one that designs, produces, and sells to the world."
Gönüllü highlighted that obtaining a patent is a crucial step in protecting an invention, noting that it marks the beginning of a journey, with true success lying in transforming the invention into a product, industrializing it, securing investment, and impacting people's lives. He stated that TÜRKPATENT ISIF'26 is organized with this understanding: "This journey, which began in 2016, became part of TEKNOFEST in 2019 and has today become a strong international meeting point. All segments of our ecosystem—from our defense industry companies to our technology parks, from our universities across Anatolia to our individual inventors—come together at this fair. We want every conversation here to lead to a new partnership, every prototype to become a new product, every patent to become a global brand. Every connection established at this fair will add a new link to Türkiye's innovation ecosystem. But are all these enough? Of course not. We must also crown the progress we have made in applications and registrations with commercial success. We will continue strengthening our industrial property system through digital transformation and artificial intelligence investments, and support technology transfer and innovation financing. We will build the Türkiye Century with a generation that protects its ideas, turns its inventions into products, and takes its brands to the world."
President of TÜRKPATENT Muhammed Zeki Durak said the fair brings together the enthusiasm of young people for technology, the determination of inventors to create, and the innovative power of the nation on a single platform. Durak pointed out that every project, prototype, and new idea seen at the TEKNOFEST Square demonstrates what Türkiye produces and develops, adding: "This understanding is also at the core of the National Technology Initiative. We now aim for a Türkiye that does not merely follow and use technology, but designs, develops, produces, protects, and sells it to the world. Industrial property holds a vital place on this journey."
Durak emphasized that the fair is growing each year and bringing together the industrial property community, stating: "This year, ISIF'26 features 367 inventions, 351 of which are domestic and 16 are foreign. Of these, 250 come from universities, 48 from industrial enterprises, and 42 from our technology parks."
Durak noted that Türkiye ranks 10th globally in domestic patent applications, 6th in domestic trademark applications, and 3rd in domestic design applications. He added: "Türkiye being the global leader in international patent applications in the field of female inventors is a valuable indicator of our innovation capacity. Bringing more of our youth and women into this ecosystem will further enhance Türkiye's capacity to produce technology."
TÜRKPATENT ISIF'26 is organized to bring together inventors, entrepreneurs, students, and stakeholders in the technology field to promote new technologies and foster collaboration in the field of industrial property. At the fair, 367 inventions from 11 countries will be exhibited. Participants will come from Azerbaijan, France, Iran, Japan, Canada, North Macedonia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Tunisia and Yemen.
Under the fair's program, various workshops and panels will be held with the participation of experts from TÜRKPATENT and WIPO. Throughout the event, participants will receive information and advisory services regarding commercialization and the processes of applying for and registering industrial property rights. Through the Patent Appointment System, inventors and entrepreneurs will be informed about procedures related to industrial property rights. Additionally, prize-winning knowledge competitions for students and youth will be organized to raise awareness about intellectual and industrial property.
Representatives of the World Intellectual Property Organization will review the inventions and technologies exhibited at the fair and exchange views on best practices. Bilateral and inter-delegation meetings are also planned for the representatives.
The inventions exhibited at the fair will be evaluated by a jury panel according to various criteria. Winners will receive their awards at the TÜRKPATENT ISIF'26 Award Ceremony. In addition to 12 special awards, gold, silver, and bronze medals are planned to be awarded to successful inventions.
Founded in 2025 at TEKNOFEST Istanbul under the umbrella of the Agricultural Technologies Cluster, the TÜME Foundation conducts initiatives to enhance Türkiye's production capacity in agriculture and livestock through technology, efficiency, and sustainability. At the 3,200 square meter area established at TEKNOFEST Southeast, the foundation brings together Turkish companies, universities, young entrepreneurs, and producers developing agricultural and livestock technologies.
Designed as a center where production, technology, science, entrepreneurship, education, and careers converge within a single ecosystem, the area showcases applications targeting different sectors of agriculture, including autonomous milking robots, feed delivery systems, smart barns, and data-driven production and processing management systems. Visitors can observe holistically how artificial intelligence, automation, data management, and autonomous systems work together in modern livestock farming.
Within the smart farm model established in the area, next-generation solutions—from autonomous milking systems and feeding robots to image processing and herd management, and from sensor technologies to genetic applications—are demonstrated using real production models. Alongside technology-developing companies, stakeholders including partner universities, academics, students, entrepreneurs, investors, and producers are present. The goal is to transfer knowledge developed in universities to production sites, connect technology companies' solutions with real production models, bring students together with industry representatives, and enable entrepreneurs to establish direct connections with investors. Under the leadership of Abdulkadir Karagöz, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the TÜME Foundation, an agricultural technology ecosystem is being created that unites universities, technology companies, entrepreneurs, producers, investors, and youth around a common goal.
Activities themed around agriculture and technology are organized for children in the area. The autonomous banana harvesting system developed by Dost Agricultural Technologies has been transformed into a dedicated experiential platform for children at TEKNOFEST. At the entrance to the area, various agriculture-themed activities, prize games, and surprises are available for children.
Children can experience hands-on how livestock processes are digitized through the BAİTAR livestock management platform developed by Maestro Artificial Intelligence Technologies. This includes scanning ear tags of calves to input identity and health data into the system, recording procedures, and monitoring the entire herd from a single central point.
For participants aged 15 and above, a specialized laboratory on genetic and embryo technologies has been established in the area. Through practical sessions developed with contributions from TAGEM, Sortiva, Dost Agricultural Technologies, and expert teams, participants will receive short training on embryo transfer, genetic breeding, and sperm technologies, observe the processes closely under expert guidance, and experience them hands-on. In the VR experience zone, the scientific experience of embryo transfer is delivered to participants using virtual reality technology.
In collaboration with Bilim Erzurum and the Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality, 13 workshops are organized for children aged 6 to 14, covering topics from mushroom cultivation to milk and kefir production, from image processing in agriculture to agricultural cards.
At the experience area created by Dost Foods, participants can examine next-generation food technologies and observe pasteurization applications without additives or preservatives using hyperbaric systems.
Through the "Compact Closed-Loop Filtration and Life Support System" established by MAT Filtration Technologies, 2,000 Japanese koi fish are displayed in a system designed to replicate natural living conditions. Participants can study sustainable water management and closed-loop filtration technologies through a system that conserves water, protects ecosystems, and enables water reuse.
The finalist teams of the TEKNOFEST Agricultural Technologies Competition will meet visitors at the TÜME Foundation area. Young participants will present their projects on supply security, sociology, climate and environment, price stability, and reliable food, and deliver their final presentations in the TÜME area. The number of applications for the competition, which was approximately 14,000 in the previous period, has reached 80,000 this year. The goal is to further develop successful projects, transform them into startups, connect them with academia and industry, and implement them in production.
A dedicated meeting area has been created in the area where students, young entrepreneurs, and investors can gather. Young people developing projects in agriculture, livestock, food, and agricultural technologies can present their ideas to investors, showcase their projects, and hold direct discussions to form new collaborations.
The TÜME Career Center established in the area will connect young people seeking careers in agriculture, livestock, and agricultural technologies with industry representatives. Engineers, veterinarians, those seeking careers in production and technical operations, candidates aiming for careers in R&D and product development teams, applicants interested in corporate functions, and students seeking internships can apply through the Career Center. Applications will be evaluated by partner companies and relevant institutions under the umbrella of the TÜME Foundation.
Culture Civilization Foundation (KÜME) prepared the "Experience" exhibition, which met visitors on the first day of the festival, 30 September 2026.
On the first day of the festival, a science show for children was held. Organized by Bilim Türkiye, the event featured experiments on topics such as volume, pressure, and sublimation. Children invited to the stage participated in the experiments.
Security measures at the festival grounds utilize domestic and national technologies. The Artificial Intelligence-Assisted "Karagöz" System, developed by the Gendarmerie General Command Directorate of Communications, Electronics and Information Systems and produced by ASELSAN, is used by gendarmerie teams at the festival site.
The system enables identity verification by comparing facial images captured through cameras with registered data. Results from queries conducted across various databases are transmitted to tablets used by personnel. When a person with an outstanding search or arrest warrant is identified, an alert is sent to the officer's tablet. All operations conducted via the closed-circuit system comply with the Law on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK).

The second day of TEKNOFEST Southeast will be held on 1 October 2026 at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport. On the second day, the "Steel Wings" commando team conducted an operational demonstration, the KÜRE Talks continued, the launch of the "Advanced Materials and Systems Competition" coordinated by ERDEMİR was introduced, and Japan's Ambassador to Ankara, Tamura Masami visited the festival grounds. The day's program also includes the second aerial display by Türk Yıldızları and a concert by Semicenk.
Commando Team "Steel Wings", under the command of the Turkish Land Forces Command, conducted a synchronized air and ground operational demonstration during the festival. The demonstration also involved the Bayraktar TB3, S-70, and CH-47 helicopters.
In the operational scenario, advance units were deployed via helicopter. The motorcycle-borne commandos deployed from the helicopters carried out reconnaissance activities in the area, while snipers positioned themselves at strategic points to ensure perimeter security. Subsequently, commandos inserted via S-70 and CH-47 helicopters executed the main operation.
Culture Civilization Foundation (KÜME) continued its KÜRE Talks on the second day. According to the program shared by the KÜME Foundation, the talks on 1 October are as follows:
Erkam Tüzgen, General Manager of Bilişim Vadisi, spoke at the program titled "The History of Innovation: Creating Something New". In his remarks following the session, Tüzgen identified TEKNOFEST as one of the key actors in Türkiye's technological journey, stating: "I believe TEKNOFEST is one of the key actors in transforming the mindset in Türkiye from 'We cannot produce technology' to 'We can produce technology' and, soon, 'We will produce the best technology.'"
Tüzgen noted that Bilişim Vadisi is among the stakeholders of TEKNOFEST and expressed his hope that Türkiye would develop the most advanced technologies, provide the necessary infrastructure, and enable young people to contribute meaningfully to technological production. He emphasized that technology alone does not transform humanity and society into civilization; social activities, thought structures, and conceptions of civilization also play a vital role in this process. Regarding the collaboration between KÜME Foundation and TEKNOFEST, he said: "We produce technology, but the answer to why we produce it comes from the social sciences and from our conscience. Today we see the world's most powerful countries as the most cruel, but thank God our civilization is not like that. We must continue on this path. We need to develop technologies that restore well-being to humanity and spread justice. For this purpose, I deeply value KÜME as an institution that will build a civilization, TEKNOFEST as the force that will transform us into a technological nation, and these collaborations."
Tüzgen stressed the importance of young people acting with self-confidence and a spirit of unity, saying: "We have everything we need to become the best in the world: resources, accumulated knowledge, and a conception of civilization. We must be aware of this. But awareness alone is not enough; we must also strive, unite, form teams, continue our collective effort, and fight together."
Taha Yücel, Deputy General Manager of ASELSAN, participated in the discussion titled "Strategic Perspective in the Defense Industry". In his remarks after the event, Yücel noted that access to technology was limited in the past, but today events like TEKNOFEST are bringing technology to young people. He highlighted the advantage of transmitting this vision to youth in ancient cities like Şanlıurfa and pointed out that knowledge acquired upon university graduation begins to become outdated immediately. He addressed young people with the following message: "Lifelong learning is essential. Continuously update yourself, closely follow global developments, and identify your dominant skill based on technological advances. Dominant skill emerges when people do what they truly love, identify their aptitude, and specialize in that field, leading to great benefits, productivity, and happiness."
Asymmetric warfare was highlighted by Yücel as a concept of critical importance to the defense industry. He noted that recent conflicts have demonstrated practical experience in this domain, showing that expensive systems can be neutralized by inexpensive equipment. He stated: "Recent wars have shown us in the asymmetric domain of defense industry that it is possible to stop an expensive attack system with inexpensive equipment, and to attack an expensive system with inexpensive equipment. When economic advantage, rapid production advantage, and asymmetric advantage are achieved, significant success follows. No powerful country can resist this with classical methods. We have seen examples of this in Ukraine."
Yücel emphasized that technologies such as chip and display manufacturing require large-scale investment and significant capital, making competition in these fields difficult. However, he noted that software technologies offer opportunities, adding: "Artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, coding, and quantum technologies are areas where we can compete with our existing capabilities and trained human resources. We have computational power and competitive strength, and we have young people with coding skills."
Yücel acknowledged that events like TEKNOFEST build self-confidence in young people and thanked everyone involved in organizing the event.
The introduction of the "Advanced Materials and Systems Competition", to be organized under the coordination of ERDEMİR, one of the OYAK companies, took place within the festival's "Journey of Materials" experience area. Speaking at the introduction, Murat Yalçıntaş, General Manager of OYAK, noted that young people and students have come together with technology at TEKNOFEST and announced the launch of a new competition: "If you do not have the right materials, developing the technology you desire becomes nearly impossible. As Erdemir Group, we are one of the companies in Türkiye with the best capabilities in materials technology."
Yalçıntaş indicated that the competition will be open to participants at the university level and above, with applications opening in November. He stated: "We will publish specific criteria, and under these guidelines, students and university-level participants will strive to develop the materials specified in the criteria. We will provide our R&D capabilities to the competitors and meet their material needs. There will also be a monetary prize at the end of the competition. As Erdemir Group, we will stand alongside the young participants who develop the material to industrialize it, add economic value, and enable its production at an industrial scale. I invite all young people with confidence in materials science to participate in this competition."

According to the Şanlıurfa Provincial National Education Directorate, the number of students brought to the festival grounds reached approximately 500,000.
T-129 ATAK helicopter performed a demonstration flight under heavy rain. During the display, the helicopter executed various maneuvers, and visitors watched the flight from below the rain.
The Turkish Air Force demonstration team SOLOTÜRK performed a demonstration flight on the third day of the festival. The display, conducted by Air Pilot Lieutenant Colonel Murat Bakıcı in an F-16, featured high-speed, low-altitude acrobatic maneuvers, climbs, and dives. The aircraft, weighing approximately 15 tons, flew at low altitude at a speed of 1,200 kilometers per hour.
In the final segment of the show, SOLOTÜRK performed a flight accompanied by the song "Hatıran Yeter" by artist Ferdi Tayfur, and the audience sang along.
Turkish Folk Dances Federation Performance Group showcased folk dances from various regions of Türkiye, dressed in traditional regional costumes.
The third day of the festival ended with a concert by rap artist Ceza. The artist performed his songs, and the audience in the concert area sang along.
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır delivered a speech at the "11th International Invention Fair-TÜRKPATENT ISIF'26 Award Ceremony" held at the festival grounds. Kacır noted that this year 367 inventions from 11 countries were exhibited at the fair and emphasized that the event, hosted by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT), is among the largest of its kind in the world. Kacır stated that 12 of the 367 participating inventions were deemed award-worthy and congratulated all inventors, whether they received awards or not, as well as the institutions supporting them, especially universities.
Highlighting the importance of transforming ideas into inventions and inventions into added value within the context of the National Technology Initiative, Kacır said: "Our universities, technology parks, and institutions leading entrepreneur support programs are making unique contributions to Türkiye's National Technology Initiative. Thanks to these contributions and efforts, Türkiye is annually elevating its capacity in intellectual property. Twenty-three years ago, only 414 patent applications were filed in this country annually. Today, more than 11,000 patent applications are filed each year. Türkiye is also the world leader in the proportion of female inventors. We still have many paths to walk and many tasks to implement together."
After his speech, Kacır presented the awards.
Minister Kacır visited booths at the festival grounds including Bilişim Vadisi, ROKETSAN, and the Cansağlığı Foundation. Kacır examined the laparoscopic surgical device at the Cansağlığı Foundation's Laparoscopic Experience Area, gathered information about the products, and played the traditional game tabu at the booth.
After visiting the HAVELSAN booth, Kacır moved to the Göbeklitepe tent and watched a sinevizyon performance. He also toured ERDEMİR's historical and future experience zones, where he viewed videos organized under the themes "How did we start?", "How did we succeed?", "Where have we reached?", "What are we focusing on?", and "What will we achieve?" to gain insight into their work.
Culture Civilization Foundation (KÜME) continued its KÜRE Talks program on the third day of the festival under the exhibition titled "Experience: The State of Humanity". On this day, programs were held under the titles "Defense Industry and Development", "Ahi Culture in the Age of Genius", "Why Are Things That Changed the World Getting Smaller?", and "Have We Gone a Bit Too Far?".
President of the Presidency of Defense Industries Haluk Görgün participated in the discussion titled "Defense Industry and Development". Görgün stated that TEKNOFEST has become a strategic platform where innovative ideas find their place and emphasized the young and dynamic nature of the workforce in the defense industry: "They are producing platforms that operate in the air, at sea, on land, underwater, and even in space. We proudly say that the average age of these teams is 34. We even have companies with an average age of 28 to 29. Therefore, we place full trust in our youth."
Görgün noted that approximately 97 percent of university graduates working in the defense industry are graduates of Turkish universities and said: "Human capital is extremely important to us. You may have developed highly complex systems, but if you do not have the human capability and competence to further develop them, let alone maintain them, then no matter how valuable your system is, it becomes useless if you cannot use it when needed. Therefore, the fundamental element of our defense industry is the vision set forth by our President. At the heart of this vision lies trust in the Turkish person, our youth, engineers, producers, and industrialists, and the opportunities granted to them. Turkish youth, entrepreneurs, and industrialists are striving to make the best use of this motivation and these opportunities. As a result, today Türkiye ranks 11th among countries exporting defense industry products globally. Moreover, when considering export potential, Türkiye is among the countries exporting products to the most nations worldwide. We now export over 230 products to 185 different countries."
Görgün pointed out that high-tech products developed in the defense industry gradually transform daily life and that the added value generated in the sector is reflected in export figures: "The world now demands products that make human life easier, enhance security, and promote peace at cost-effective prices. While the value per kilogram in Türkiye's overall exports is around 1.5 dollars, when we include large-volume products in our defense industry, our export value per kilogram reaches 65 dollars. Even the cameras used in our UAVs have a value per kilogram of around 20,000 dollars, and the detectors inside these cameras have a value per kilogram of 50,000 dollars. As our skilled human capacity grows, this transformation into high-added-value areas becomes a natural necessity."
Görgün noted that before coming to Şanlıurfa, he visited Azerbaijan and said: "We signed new high-budget contracts for very serious platforms and are continuing our discussions without pause." Görgün stated that Turkish defense industry companies achieved exports worth 10.1 billion dollars last year and signed new export contracts nearing 18 billion dollars, and that the outlook for this year's final quarter has strengthened further.
In response to questions from attendees after the discussion, Görgün addressed a question regarding strategies to combat external dependency by pointing to the vision of "Complete Independent Türkiye" and emphasized that building trust is the most important element in the sector: "Our first strategy is to keep our word. The second is after-sales support. We know our job does not end with delivering a product and receiving payment. The third is our strategic goals. Our struggle is to produce local and national products and expand our network of friends and allies."
Görgün stated that TEKNOFEST is a platform that fosters team spirit and a sense of responsibility and said: "In our companies, during internship or hiring processes, I see that our youth who have passed through places like TEKNOFEST stand out like glowing lamps. Our companies do not miss this opportunity and highly value these young people."
Görgün noted that when naming local and national systems, appropriate choices are made in line with Turkish culture and the Anatolian geography, which is why the Presidency of Defense Industries was awarded by the Turkish Language Association (TDK).
Director General of National Technology and Artificial Intelligence at the Ministry of Industry and Technology Sadullah Uzun spoke at the panel titled "Ahi Culture in the Age of Genius". Uzun noted that artificial intelligence has reached a point where its text, audio, and video outputs are indistinguishable from human-generated content and emphasized the need for vigilance regarding the threats and opportunities in this field.
"In this regard, I can say I represent a slightly more optimistic perspective. If we use technology correctly, it will make our lives easier and more efficient. If we misuse it, we will become its slaves."
Uzun emphasized the importance of skilled artisans in the new era and stated that the Ministry has been preparing for this for a long time: "We are initiating this through DENEYAP Technology Workshops. After acquiring these competencies, DENEYAP prepares students further with artificial intelligence, machine learning, entrepreneurship, and robotic coding for the new era. After DENEYAP, they come to TEKNOFEST. The young people and siblings we have nurtured from scratch in DENEYAP Technology Workshops have now reached the point of producing success at TEKNOFEST. They have even become mentors and jury members in DENEYAP."
Uzun highlighted the importance of establishing an ethical framework for artificial intelligence: "A genocide is being carried out before our eyes, and technology is being actively used in this. While that misuse stands there, we say, 'Here is the model of how it should be done.' That is why the TEKNOFEST generation exists. We want to exist with technology developed by people who know themselves, have their own values, and think like us. We must show the world 'this is how it is done.' That is precisely why we unveiled our Artificial Intelligence Action Plan under the auspices of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Now Türkiye has a clear action plan outlining the steps it will take regarding the future of artificial intelligence. We have announced our 16 actions under the axes of 'Recognize, Benefit, Produce, and Manage' and are now intensely working to implement this action plan."
Regarding the theme of the panel, Uzun commented on the changing meaning of the concept of "Ahi Culture in the Age of Genius": "Ahi Culture in the Age of Genius has transformed. Now we are not expecting the transmission of a profession but the transmission of culture, perspective, and vision. What we mean here is civilization transfer. That is why every time I go to KÜME Foundation, I feel as if I am passing through a portal into a different realm. The KÜME Foundation reminds us how important the civilizational roots and foundations of this work are. It reminds us that technology can only reach its goal when produced by the right hands. In our new age of Ahi culture, what we must truly transmit to our youth is this spirit."
General Manager of Yongatek Microelectronics Ali Baran spoke at the panel titled "Why Are Things That Changed the World Getting Smaller?". Baran stated that their primary objective is design and development and noted that the white goods chip is not only used in white goods but also in programming any device described as "smart." Baran indicated that the world's largest white goods manufacturer is in China and the second largest is in Türkiye, and he emphasized that this presents an opportunity for Türkiye. Regarding artificial intelligence, he said:
"What I see is that artificial intelligence will change our lives more than ever before in history. For this reason, some countries will not allow others to access the latest AI chips. We saw this long ago."
AI chip, Baran said: "It is easy to say but not a simple matter. When we show how to integrate this into machines and demonstrate results, we will present those results at the next TEKNOFEST. We have reached the end of the road." He noted that 52 percent of the chip consists of memory and said: "Essentially, it contains very serious memory units because there is a massive data flow. When you press a button, video comes in, passes through all filters, is processed, compressed, and transferred to various locations. It will be a product usable in all defense systems and all UAVs, meeting all those needs."
Baran emphasized that in today's complex and tense global environment, no one can afford to act with meaningless goodwill: "Every technology you do not possess will become an opportunity for others one day. We must plan, build, and truly achieve our independence." He stressed the importance of learning from mistakes and not fearing them: "Because humans cannot reach anywhere without making mistakes. Something may happen, problems may arise, but we must always face these challenges, work hard, and reach a destination."
Baran noted that Türkiye has companies capable of developing technology: "We have the opportunity to sell to the world and turn this into millions. All that is needed is for the state to properly design and support it with the right incentives. Until now, these were missing, but now our government is doing them. As these are implemented, the results will begin to emerge."
General Secretary of SAHA İstanbul Muttalip Tütüncü spoke at the program titled "Have We Gone a Bit Too Far?". Tütüncü noted that this question has appeared in different forms in different eras and said: "Sometimes it comes from our own circle, friends, and acquaintances, and sometimes from our opponents. But it is always a current question in every era: 'Have we gone a bit too far?' It is a question that can come from anyone when you try to do something different, step outside the norm, or cross the line. I only wanted to shed light on how this question should be addressed. It may not always come from bad intentions, nor always from good intentions, but regardless of intentions, we need to walk forward, to move ahead in some way. What I am saying is this: moving forward is not a choice for us, it is a necessity. Because everything is flowing forward—time, history, water, roads... To survive, especially in the geography we live in, we must move forward."
Tütüncü emphasized that the condition for progress is walking together: "The awareness of togetherness must expand further, spread more widely, and perhaps even transcend boundaries so that Türkiye's technology story and technology initiative truly reach maturity."
Tütüncü stated that TEKNOFEST is the showcase of Türkiye's defense and technology ecosystem aimed at youth and said about SAHA İstanbul: "SAHA is not on the showcase side; it is on the back side, in manufacturing, coordinating manufacturing processes and facilitating coordination among the actors in manufacturing, contributing to this effort as a sectoral civil society organization."
TÜME Foundation organized the "Agriculture, Production, and Regional Development Panel" under the theme "From Academia to the Field: Agriculture". Speaking at the panel, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ahmet Gümen stated that agriculture and livestock farming in Türkiye are becoming increasingly planned, efficient, and technologically enabled every year, and that technology allows remote monitoring of animal feeding. He added that they want more youth to participate in this field: "We have supported males and females aged 18 to 28. As a ministry, we stand behind our young population and support all their endeavors. We prioritize this in Ziraat Bank credit programs, offering greater interest rate reductions. We also ensure continuity in production through our support measures."
Mayor of Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Mehmet Emin Sekmen described agriculture as "one of the indispensable elements of a nation" and stated that agriculture and livestock farming must become more efficient.
Rector of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar noted that modern technologies facilitate production and increase added value and said: "Do not let your diploma limit you, dear youth. No matter which field you study in, do not confine yourself by saying 'I must work only in that field.' Today, among the young people receiving education at the TÜME farm in Burdur, we have teachers, veterinarians, and theology students."
TÜME agricultural entrepreneur Furkan Aşık expressed his satisfaction at being able to address youth at the festival thanks to his new livestock venture.
The local and national "Dost Anadolu Autonomous Milking Robot", developed by TÜME Foundation, is exhibited at the festival grounds. The robot can autonomously milk up to 75 animals per day. Dost Technology official Nurullah Çalka stated that the robot was developed to improve agriculture and livestock farming and to increase youth interest in the sector.
Çalka explained that the robot's operating system is based on the principle of "voluntary milking", where animals come to the milking unit at their preferred times according to their needs and behaviors. Çalka noted that through the system, data such as animal health metrics, feed consumption, and milk yield per udder are tracked in real time and transmitted to veterinarians and farm owners, contributing to preventive veterinary practices.
Çalka stated that the robot's software is powered by artificial intelligence: "Our software is an autonomous system supported by artificial intelligence, entirely written and prepared by Turkish engineers. We can say that its hardware, mechanics, and electronics are a marvel of Turkish engineering."
Çalka noted that the robot has been tested in five locations in Lüleburgaz and said: "It will be put into service in Türkiye as of January. It will contribute to increasing efficiency and animal health in the livestock sector through local technology."
The Operating Room Experience Area at the booth of the Cansağlığı Foundation features models of equipment used in a normal operating room. The area is especially visited by school groups and children. Board Member and Social Work Coordinator of the Cansağlığı Foundation Ayşenur Baysoy stated that volunteer students studying health and medicine explain surgical procedures to children.
The area aims to help children understand hospital environments and healthcare professions at an early age. Visitors can examine equipment they would not normally be allowed to touch in hospitals and learn about internal organs through models. Children are also given the experience of entering an operating room; visitors are provided with gowns, masks, and caps.
Students studying health and medicine also serve on the volunteer team for the area. Seyhan Şevval Toz, a third-year student at the Gaziantep Islamic Science and Technology University Faculty of Medicine, helps children experience the operating room environment through simulation and learn about internal organs through models.
Graduate of the Abant İzzet Baysal University Nursing Department Elif Rana Yıldırım also accompanies children and visitors in the 3D simulation room. The area aims to encourage children's interest in healthcare professions such as medicine and nursing.
The MetaTıp Health Technologies, approved by the Ministry of Health and made available for use by medical students in some university hospitals, are introduced at the booth at the festival grounds. Under the "MetaTıp Project" supported by TÜBİTAK, MRI data is converted into 3D models to provide doctors with the opportunity to examine and simulate surgeries virtually before the actual procedure.
Computer engineer Emre Kaan Şanverdi stated that the system transfers MRI data into a 3D environment, allowing doctors to perform lesion detection, volume measurements, and various analyses using these models. Şanverdi also noted that the system can be used remotely, enabling doctors to conduct pre-surgical simulations without being physically present with the patient. The project is expected to be rolled out nationwide in the near future.
Developed locally in Yerköy district of Yozgat by the General Directorate of Security to enhance the safety of bomb disposal units, the bomb disposal suit is exhibited at the festival grounds. This suit, developed as a replacement for previously imported products, weighs 33 kilograms.
Made from special fibers and Kevlar fabric, the suit provides protection against the effects of a 10-kilogram explosive detonated at a distance of 3 meters. The suit features protection against pressure, heat, and shrapnel and includes a climate control system to enhance comfort during prolonged use.
Chief Commissioner Kenan Gündoğdu of the Explosives Disposal and Investigation Branch of the General Directorate of Security Criminal Department noted that the suit is 5 kilograms lighter than the previously used foreign-made product. Gündoğdu emphasized that, in addition to its ergonomic design, the suit provides protection against pressure, heat, and shrapnel, and that the climate control system significantly improves user comfort during extended use.
Organized by the Şanlıurfa Provincial National Education Directorate, students transported by bus to the festival grounds tour aviation, space, and technology booths and participate in workshops.
Director of the Provincial National Education Directorate Hasan Kökrek, in his statement on the third day, noted that approximately 500,000 students had been brought to the site and stated that the goal is to connect all students in the city with the festival and to enable 1 million students and parents to benefit from the event. Kökrek emphasized that the festival increases students' interest in science and technology and said that children gain a scientific culture by seeing projects developed by young people here.

The fourth day of TEKNOFEST Southeast was held on 3 October 2026 at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport. On this day, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the festival grounds, inaugurated the Şanlıurfa Science Center via live connection, and awarded prizes to the winning teams in the technology competitions. The day’s program included a performance flight by Turkish Stars, demonstrations by the Turkish Armed Forces, and the final of the World Drone Championship. Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, and Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş visited the festival grounds; the T3 Foundation signed three separate protocols.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan began his speech by greeting the audience. Emphasizing that he was with the youth at TEKNOFEST, he said: "Today we once again watch with pride the achievements produced by the TEKNOFEST generation that have brought Türkiye to its current level in technology. I individually congratulate all our young people who displayed their products and turned their dreams into reality at TEKNOFEST Southeast. The immense atmosphere at our GAP Airport clearly demonstrates the determination, excitement, and resolve of our youth here. Praise be to God, Türkiye’s future is in capable hands. The horizon and destiny of my country remain fully open. The Century of Türkiye will carry the imprint, seal, and signature of the TEKNOFEST generation. The youth here are the face of this nation, the apple of its eye, and the strongest symbol of a prosperous and respected Türkiye. I invite each of you to break your fast. I offer endless praise to Almighty God for guiding this nation with such knowledgeable, moral, courageous, and self-assured youth. May the light in your eyes never fade and the passion in your hearts never cease. May God protect you from harm."
Erdoğan congratulated the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the Turkish Technology Team, and all stakeholders who contributed, saying: "Dear young people, this year we are experiencing the excitement of TEKNOFEST, the world's largest aviation, space, and technology festival, bearing your signature from start to finish, here in our Şanlıurfa. Praise be to God." Regarding why Şanlıurfa was chosen for TEKNOFEST, Erdoğan said: "Selçuk Bey asked me, 'Where should we hold this program?' I told him, 'Şanlıurfa is fitting for this.' Indeed, the enthusiasm and high participation of this program in Şanlıurfa, which I watched from the air, filled me with pride."
President Erdoğan, affirming that TEKNOFEST is fitting for Şanlıurfa, added: "Do not forget, this is above all the city of prophets. It holds thousands of years of accumulated science, culture, and civilization. Göbeklitepe, the zero point of history, lies within its borders. In medicine, mathematics, astronomy, geometry, physics, and philosophy, thousands of scholars produced their finest works here. From El Battani to Sinan ibn Sabit, from Ibn Vasiq of Harran to Yunus al-Harrani, dozens and hundreds of scientists have gifted humanity invaluable contributions through their work here. That is why we organized TEKNOFEST in Şanlıurfa—to connect the legacy of the past with today’s youth and tomorrow’s technologies. I told him, 'Şanlıurfa is fitting for this.' Insha'Allah, let us soar together toward such a horizon with Şanlıurfa."
We wanted our youth never to forget their roots and to draw strength and inspiration from the achievements of their ancestors. We want them to build Türkiye’s future with this awareness. We also wanted young people from different countries participating in TEKNOFEST to see and understand Türkiye’s values and depth more closely. You know we began this event in 2018 with 4,333 team applications. The number of applications has increased every year; this year, interest in TEKNOFEST Southeast has been truly intense. More than 730,000 teams and over 1.6 million participants from all 81 provinces of Türkiye and 97 countries around the world applied to the technology competitions. How many visitors have we had so far? Nearly one million. Alhamdulillah, what beauty, what great enthusiasm."
Erdoğan noted that in 2026, 11 new competition categories were added in areas such as 5G, artificial intelligence, electronic warfare, first-person view drone tracking, advanced autonomous systems, robotic applications, combat drones, air route optimization, and addiction prevention.
Erdoğan stated that the new experience, exhibition, flight, and activity areas have enriched the event: "I sincerely congratulate all our teams and participants, especially those who reached the finals. May God make your successes permanent." He added: "Did you not see the local and national defense products on display here? Did you not admire KIZILELMA, KAAN, GÖKBEY, ATAK, HÜRJET, ANKA, BAYRAKTAR TB2, and other state-of-the-art aerial platforms? Did ZAHA, Pars, Gezgin, Boran, Fırtına, Korkut, Gökberk, Kalkan, Hisar, Ejderha, and our other ground vehicles not earn full marks from you? Did our unmanned maritime vehicle Albatros, our TÜRKSAT 6A satellite, our HİSTEP rocket, our local detection systems, and our demonstration flights not excite and fill you with pride? Yes. We think just like you. We are excited and enthusiastic. We take pride in all these technologies, each of which required immense effort. We are proud of these platforms developed by our own engineers, software developers, and technicians in the defense industry."
President Erdoğan said: "Look, as a politician who has walked alongside youth throughout my life and always stood firmly behind them, I want to express with all my heart: The technologies you watched, admired, were awed by, and felt proud of today—these are the very technologies you will produce in the future. You will work alongside your brothers and sisters who designed, developed, and tested these products. You will inherit the legacy entrusted to us by heroes like Vecihi Hürkuş, Nuri Killigil, Nuri Demirağ, and Özdemir Bayraktar, who devoted their lives to this cause, and you will carry it further. You will shoulder the future of Türkiye. You will successfully raise the banner of struggle elevated by our martyrs and veterans. Never forget: This nation has been waiting for you for centuries. This ummah has been awaiting your sign for generations. The oppressed and the wronged have been eagerly looking forward to you for years."
President Erdoğan warned: "There are those who wish to stop you, slow you down, and crush your hopes. They have been waiting on alert for centuries, lying in ambush for millennia. You will not hand them the opportunity they seek. You will not yield to those who want to divert you from your path. You will not make even the smallest concession on your principles, values, identity, or your Kızılelma ideal.""
Erdoğan recited verses from the poem by Erdem Bayazıt: "Time flows, the earth trembles, the sky spreads its wings, you carry the immortal flower on your chest; in the forest of darkness, your eyes are the sun of faith, your breath is the sponge of the tears of hopeless deer; now you carry the leaden burden of the good news, the steel shell of falsehood will crack, and in your garden will grow the sun-faced child of love and belief." He then said: "You, who carry the leaden burden of the good news, will stop war criminals, enemies of humanity, and genociders. With the products you develop, the projects you bring to life, your character, courage, knowledge, compassion, and mercy, you will heal the bleeding wounds across our heartland—from Palestine to Lebanon, from Yemen to Libya. You will shatter the steel shell of falsehood with the light of truth, conscience, justice, and reality."
On defense industry achievements, Erdoğan said: "We are continuing our successes in Türkiye’s defense industry. We are marking a complete revolution in this field. More than 4,500 of our companies and over 100,000 of our people, under the coordination of the Presidency of Defense Industries, raise the bar of success higher every day. With the projects we have activated and the products we have developed in the air, on land, at sea, and in space, we continue writing epics."
Erdoğan noted that local and national defense products have been integrated into the inventories of the armed forces and security units: "While enhancing our deterrence and effectiveness, we also meet the defense needs of our friends and allies when requested." He continued: "We believe that the stronger our friends, with whom we share destiny, the stronger and more powerful Türkiye will become. Look, we are a nation that knows the pain of deprivation and dependence on others. At one point, we were 80 percent dependent on imports for our defense industry. Today, we are the world’s 11th largest defense exporter. In August alone this year, we exported defense and aerospace products worth $511.4 million. Our exports from January to August increased by 16.2 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching $6.3 billion. When we came into office, our annual exports were only $248 million. Türkiye has reached today’s level thanks to the efforts of our companies shown here and our own support. We worked hard, struggled, never gave up in the face of difficulties, and achieved all this. Insha'Allah, we will reach even better places. Insha'Allah, we will strengthen these successes further with new records, greater competitiveness, and higher-value platforms."

Serdar Karagöz, Chairman and General Manager of Anadolu Agency participated in the KÜRE Talks panel organized by KÜME Foundation under the title "The Accumulation and Transmission of Everyday Knowledge, The Story of News Gathering". Karagöz noted that news has been conveyed through various means—from cave paintings to smoke signals, from fast runners to mounted messengers—and that the telegraph was followed by radio waves, television, telephones, and the internet, culminating today in artificial intelligence. Karagöz emphasized that in the age of artificial intelligence, the most important quality in media and journalism is reliability. He added that the 107th anniversary of Anadolu Agency will be celebrated in the coming months, stating: "Much has changed since that day, but the core philosophy of AA remains the pursuit of truth and the struggle against imperialism. We continue this pursuit globally. We are the news agency that has conveyed the genocide in Gaza to the world most extensively, powerfully, and effectively."
In response to questions, Karagöz said: "We actively use artificial intelligence. As an agency, we are preparing a guide on AI ethics." Regarding excessive media consumption, he added: "I believe this trend will soon fade. People will no longer need or want more information and content. In five years, you will consume less social media than today. In ten years, you will consume less video content than today. This is an instinctive human self-protection behavior."
In the closing program of the KÜRE Talks, moderated by Abdullah Eren, Chairman of the KÜME Foundation Board of Directors, a discussion titled "Human and Autonomy" was held. Speaking at the discussion, Selçuk Bayraktar, Chairman of the KÜME Foundation Board of Trustees, stated that the KÜME Foundation complements its technological initiatives with art and culture, asserting that a civilization cannot progress without art. He said: "Whether viewed as a physicist, mathematician, or architect, we see a different aesthetic in every dimension. All this beauty is meaningful only if humanity exists. The KÜME Foundation was established to answer the question 'What is human?' and to build a civilization upon that answer, at a time when the world is being dragged into existential darkness and humanity is being redefined."
Addressing the philosophical and theological dimensions of debates on artificial intelligence and autonomy, Bayraktar said: "If there is no God, then there is no human. If all these biological entities are merely atoms, then everything is equal in some sense. When we look back at today’s debates on artificial intelligence, we see they are not technical debates. At their core lies theology. We observe an intellectual hegemony that seeks to reposition, instrumentalize, and transform humans into mere objects—and this is being normalized. Some claim artificial intelligence machines are superior to humans. According to our belief, however, humans are the most honorable of all creations, the esref-i mahlukat. There is a difference between humans and a table. If you view everything through a purely materialist lens, you might say 'The table does more work than a human,' thereby devaluing humanity."
Bayraktar added: "You created this machine. You are not lower than the clock or the artificial intelligence system you built. Humanity must remember this truth. When this truth is remembered, I believe all these debates will find a far more beneficial place for humanity." Pointing to young people working 80 hours a week under harsh weather conditions at Tuz Gölü and Antalya, Bayraktar said: "Volunteering is difficult but beautiful. It transformed me profoundly. The fact that our young brothers and sisters achieve something despite all these hardships gives it value. Unlike those who seek to reach a destination without effort, this generation will rebuild our country and the world. Effort is the most sacred thing. We are proud of you."
In response to a question about greater media visibility for successful youth, Bayraktar said: "In the short term, people can be deceived by makeup and perception, but in the long term, truth itself is far more valuable. I believe the greatest star shining for humanity, our civilization, and our nation is the TEKNOFEST generation." He concluded: "TEKNOFEST fits Şanlıurfa perfectly. We consider TEKNOFEST the most meaningful work we have ever done in our lives, and we have made every effort we gave here halal. I hope that when you look back, you will say 'We are glad we gave this effort.' You will build a world surrounded by freedom, justice, goodness, and beauty."
The program ended with a group photo.
Following the closing program of the KÜRE Talks, Selçuk Bayraktar responded to questions from journalists, saying: "TEKNOFEST is breaking records in current participation. From what we have seen, we are experiencing the best TEKNOFEST experience in Şanlıurfa. I sincerely thank all institutions and friends who contributed their efforts."
Bayraktar described Kızılelma as "a goal that recedes as you approach it", adding: "What makes me happiest is that the dream of Kızılelma has become the dream of our youth, working for the benefit of our homeland and to make our country fully independent and prosperous. The greatest Kızılelma we can have is millions of our youth applying to competitions, turning them into initiatives, and carrying them out with integrity for the benefit of humanity. We thank the Almighty that we are living this experience together with our team members. I hope this experience continues to be shared across all our friendly and sympathetic regions."
When reminded that competitors from Azerbaijan participated in all categories of the competitions, Bayraktar said: "The TEKNOFEST we held in Azerbaijan was magnificent and unforgettable. We have never forgotten it. In a sense, we saw that after that, the TEKNOFEST generation began to emerge in Azerbaijan."
Bayraktar noted that work on Fergani Space, Türkiye’s project to develop its own global positioning system, is ongoing. He highlighted that Baykar has become the world’s largest UAV manufacturer in over 20 years, operates in 40 countries, and has established facilities in 7 countries. He added: "All of this is the result of long-term efforts. Of course, we strive to reach this point as quickly as possible. Our guiding principle in the National Technology Initiative has been to accurately set our goals and communicate them effectively. It will take many years. We are talking about numerous engineering problems that need to be solved. I believe that every path walked with determination, perseverance, and maximum effort will one day reach its destination."
In response to a question about brain drain, Bayraktar said: "This process has already begun. We are now seeing thousands of our academics, technology professionals, and scientific community returning home. I believe this number will continue to grow." He advised young people: "Set high goals and never be satisfied with less. We were the generation that asked 'Can we do it?' You are the generation that asks 'Will we make the best in the world?' Our expectations of you are much higher because this fire burns within you. I hope that with the support we provide, you will rebuild the shattered world with all your values and institutions. You are this core, this belief, this effort, this dream."

We launched two new competitions: the Robotics Surgery Competition led by ASELSAN, Can Sağlığı, and TÜSEB, and the Advanced Materials Technology Competition led by Erdemir."
Hasan Şıldak, Governor of Şanlıurfa, speaking at the festival grounds, noted that despite occasional traffic delays due to high attendance, there were no disruptions in parking, cleanliness, or security services. He said: "I thank the leaders of T3 Foundation and especially TEKNOFEST Board Chairman Selçuk Bayraktar. We closely coordinated from the beginning, worked together, and moved as one. Our President was very pleased yesterday. He saw the scene and addressed over 150,000 citizens on-site. These are very joyful scenes for us. The intense interest and liveliness of our youth and citizens of all ages is a great achievement for our province. It also provided an opportunity to reintroduce Şanlıurfa’s history and cultural heritage to the entire world. Şanlıurfa has demonstrated its ability to successfully manage such a large-scale organization and raised its standard."
Aydın Aslan, Director of Culture and Tourism of Şanlıurfa noted that all hotels in the city were fully booked during the festival and that visitors from neighboring provinces boosted the accommodation sector. He said: "When we look at TEKNOFEST, we see its direct impact not only on accommodation but also on food and beverage, transportation, and dozens of other sectors. We must not evaluate this only from Şanlıurfa’s perspective. We can say that TEKNOFEST’s intensity has stimulated tourism and filled food and beverage establishments in neighboring provinces. Due to TEKNOFEST’s intensity, the number of accommodation nights in Şanlıurfa increased. Our tourism season in Şanlıurfa has now extended until December."
