TEKNOFEST Technology for the Benefit of Humanity Competition

TEKNOFEST Humanity Benefit Technology Competition is a technology competition that encourages individuals to develop innovative projects by combining social responsibility awareness with technology to benefit society benefit. important Organized under the leadership of the Ministry of National Education Türkiye Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation) and the Ministry of Technology and Industry Industry, this competition aims to ensure that technology is used in ways that directly improve human life TEKNOFEST within the scope of place.

Objective

The primary objective of the competition is to enable individuals to apply their social responsibility awareness and utilize their technological knowledge and skills to develop solutions addressing societal challenges movement. Utility, societal benefit and improving quality of life are the core goals of the competition. Projects offering solutions to health and disaster management issues in economically and technologically disadvantaged regions are particularly encouraged; the aim is to ensure that developed projects are feasible, innovative and implemented using national resources original.

Scope

The Humanity Benefit Technology Competition is organized under two main categories:

Disaster Management Category

This category aims to build a more resilient society against natural disasters frequently experienced in Türkiye (earthquake, salt, landslide, rockfalls, avalanche etc.) and human-induced threats (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear threats and industrial accidents). Participants are expected to develop technological solutions that raise disaster awareness, support early warning systems, reduce loss of life and property, minimize economic damage and can be applied across all phases of disaster management.

Health Technologies Category

Focused on improving public health, this category promotes innovation in the healthcare sector.

Project topics include emergency medical technologies, telehealth services, health monitoring devices, AI-supported health applications, health education and awareness solutions, and robotic healthcare systems. Participants are expected to develop innovative solutions to problems in the healthcare field.

Eligibility Criteria

Students from all levels—primary, secondary, high school, university and above—as well as graduates from Türkiye and abroad may participate. Applications at the graduate level must be submitted by teams representing companies or startups, not individuals. Each team may consist of a maximum of six members. High school teams may only include high school students, while university and above teams must consist solely of members at the same academic level.

Evaluation Process

The competition consists of the following stages:

1. Project Preliminary Evaluation Form: Participants submit a summary form of their project to enter the preliminary evaluation.
2. Semi-Final – Project Presentation: Teams that pass the preliminary round present their projects online before a jury panel.
3. Final – Prototype and Presentation: Teams advancing to the final present their prototypes to complete the evaluation process.

Process Management and KYS System

All application, evaluation and communication processes are conducted through the KYS (Registration Management System). Each team must designate a communication officer. All notifications are sent exclusively to this person’s email address. Report submissions, financial support applications, and team member changes like must be carried out only via system and within specified deadlines. Teams must apply to the appropriate category and upload their preliminary evaluation report on time. Teams failing to complete this step will be disqualified from the competition.

Final Participation Conditions and Support

Limited travel and accommodation support is provided for teams advancing to the final. Each team may receive support for up to three members (including the communication officer). This number may be adjusted by the TEKNOFEST Competitions Committee. The committee also has the authority to limit the number of participants allowed into the festival area. Such adjustments will be announced prior to the competition.

The Humanity Benefit Technology Competition aims not only to cultivate individuals with technological knowledge but also to foster ethically responsible, empathetic individuals who generate social benefit. The developed projects visibly demonstrate technology’s direct contribution to human life in alignment with Türkiye’s National Technology Initiative vision National. This competition serves as a platform where technological advancement meets societal benefit by providing young entrepreneurs and inventors with the opportunity to identify technical problems, develop solutions and implement them real world through thinking.
