The Haunting of Hill House is an American supernatural horror series created by Mike Flanagan and released on Netflix in 2018. It is an adaptation of Shirley Jackson’s 1959 novel of the same name. The series explores the supernatural events experienced by the Crain family in the present day, shaped by the traumatic experiences they endured in the past.

The series recounts the terrifying events the Crain family experienced in a mansion called Hill House and how these events profoundly affected the lives of its members years later. Supernatural occurrences and familial crises during childhood deeply shape the psychological struggles and interpersonal relationships of the characters in adulthood.
