Released in 2020, "Türkler Geliyor: Adaletin Kılıcı" is a historical action and adventure film produced and designed by Mehmet Bozdağ, with direction by Kamil Aydın. The film focuses on the heroic tale of Akıncı units fighting against Serbian King Lazar in the Balkans during the Fatih Sultan Mehmet period and striving to establish justice.

Plot

The film begins with Fatih Sultan Mehmet turning his attention toward Rome after the conquest of Istanbul. One of the greatest obstacles in Fatih’s path is Serbian King Lazar, who organizes resistance in the Balkans with the support of the Pope. Lazar pursues brutal policies against Ottoman and oppresses the Turkish-Muslim population in the region.

To end this oppression and establish justice, Fatih Sultan Mehmet dispatches his most elite and fearless warriors, the Akıncılar, to the region. Led by Akıncı commanders such as Sungur, Konur, and Gürbüz, this unit embarks on a difficult struggle against Serbian King Lazar and his cruel commanders. The Akıncılar fight not only against enemy armies but also against traitors within their ranks, striving to raise Fatih’s sword of justice across the Balkans. The story centers on the Akıncılar’s sacrifices, strategic intelligence, and unwavering faith.

Theme

The film’s central theme is the divine justice (nizam-ı alem) and the historical mission of the Turks to distribute justice. It emphasizes that the Akıncılar are not merely conquerors but also heroes who bring peace and justice to the lands they enter. Patriotism, sacrifice, heroism, and unshakable faith form the core pillars of the film. Enemy characters are portrayed as representatives of oppression and cruelty, while Turkish characters are positioned as defenders of justice and mercy.

Production and Development

Mehmet Bozdağ, producer of popular series such as "Diriliş Ertuğrul" and "Kuruluş Osman," has brought a historical project to the cinema with this film. The screenplay was written by Mehmet Bozdağ and Atilla Engin, with direction by Kamil Aydın.

Filming took place on specially constructed large sets in Istanbul. Extensive art and costume design work was carried out to recreate the Serbian castles, cities, and battlefields of the era. To enhance the authenticity of the action sequences, an international choreography team was employed, and actors underwent training in horseback riding, sword fighting, and combat. The film aims to create an epic atmosphere through extensive crowd scenes and visual effects.
