Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman Ki is a Turkish drama television series produced by D Productions and aired on Kanal D between 2010 and 2013. The series, directed by Zeynep Günay Tan and written by Coşkun Irmak, consists of three seasons and a total of 120 episodes. The title is derived from the song of the same name by Erkin Koray.

During its broadcast, the series achieved high ratings and gained international success by being aired in many countries.

The series centers on the dramatic story of the Akarsu family living in Istanbul in 1967. The forbidden love between the family’s patriarch, sailor Ali Akarsu, and the Dutch woman Carolin profoundly affects the lives of his wife Cemile and their children Berrin, Aylin, Mete, and Osman. As the family disintegrates, each member confronts their own personal struggles, while Turkey’s social and political transformations are reflected in the narrative. The series not only portrays individual dramas but also reveals the societal structure of the era.

The series was filmed in the Unkapanı district of Istanbul. Nine houses in the Zeyrek neighborhood were restored and fifty-one houses were repainted to reflect the period’s aesthetics. Modern details were altered to match the atmosphere of the era.
