Trendyol Süper Lig 2025-26 Season Week 2

The matches of the 2nd matchweek of the Trendyol Süper Lig 2025–26 season were played between 15–18 August 2025. The opening match of the week was contested between Galatasaray and Fatih Karagümrük, while the closing match took place between Kasımpaşa and Trabzonspor.

Matches and Results

Galatasaray 3–0 Fatih Karagümrük

In the second matchweek of the Trendyol Süper Lig 2025–26 season, Galatasaray faced Fatih Karagümrük at home. The match ended with a 3–0 victory for Galatasaray, allowing the yellow-red team to start the season with two wins from two matches. The goals for Galatasaray were scored by Barış Alper Yılmaz, an own goal by Fatih Kurucuk, and Mauro Icardi. Second Half

In the second half, Galatasaray played with greater intensity. Changes made by manager Okan Buruk enhanced their attacking power, allowing them to create more chances inside the opponent’s penalty area. In the 74th minute, the lead was doubled. Fatih Kurucuk scored an own goal while attempting to clear a cross from Barış Alper Yılmaz on the right flank.

The third goal came in the 87th minute. Following a ball interception by Torreira, a counterattack began and Mauro Icardi received the ball inside the penalty area, finishing calmly to make it 3–0. This was Icardi’s first goal since returning from injury.

Victor Osimhen came on in the second half and pressured the defense with his activity. He once managed to shoot the ball into the net, but the goal was disallowed for offside.

Galatasaray - Fatih Karagümrük Match (AA)

Player Contributions

Barış Alper Yılmaz drew attention with both his goal and his productive play on the right flank, also providing the assist for the second goal. Günay Güvenç prevented the score from being leveled with a vital save during one of Karagümrük’s rare attacks in the first half. Torreira played a key role in determining Galatasaray’s tempo through his midfield ball recoveries. Icardi, despite limited playing time, directly impacted the scoreline with the decisive third goal.

First Half

Both teams attempted to create chances in the first half. Kocaelispor came close to scoring in the 15th minute when Samet Yalçın’s header struck the post. In the 53rd minute, Hadjara’s free kick and in the 60th minute, Ntcham’s powerful shot from just outside the penalty area were both saved by goalkeeper Jovanovic. In the 64th minute, Emre Kılınç’s shot from outside the area was directly controlled by the goalkeeper.

The decisive goal came in the 82nd minute. During a corner kick from the left flank taken by Soner Aydoğdu, Jovanovic attempted a backheader but inadvertently directed the ball into his own net. This goal decided the outcome of the match.

Despite playing with ten men, Kocaelispor continued to press forward in the final stages. In the 85th minute, Petkovic’s free kick from outside the area struck the crossbar and failed to result in a goal. This was recorded as one of Kocaelispor’s clearest chances of the match.

Kocaelispor - Samsunspor Match (AA)

VAR Interventions and Referee Decisions

The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system was activated twice during the match. In the 41st minute, a penalty awarded to Samsunspor was overturned after VAR review. Immediately after, in the 42nd minute, the yellow card shown to Kocaelispor’s Samet Yalçın for a foul was upgraded to a red card following VAR review. These two decisions directly influenced the match’s outcome.

Göztepe 0–0 Fenerbahçe

In the 23rd minute, Olaitan’s direct free kick was tipped onto the crossbar by goalkeeper İrfan Can Eğribayat. Second Half

Göztepe came close to scoring in the 51st and 58th minutes through Janderson and Juan, but Fenerbahçe’s defense held firm. In the 61st minute, Juan Da Silva received a second yellow card and was sent off. Four minutes later, substitute İsmail Köybaşı was also dismissed with a second yellow card.

After these incidents, Fenerbahçe gained greater possession and came close to scoring in the 75th minute through En-Nesyri’s header. In the 85th minute, Jayden Oosterwolde received a second yellow card and was sent off.

In the final moments of the match, a penalty was awarded to Fenerbahçe after VAR review, but Anderson Talisca failed to beat goalkeeper Lis.

Göztepe - Fenerbahçe Match (AA)

Manager Statements

Jose Mourinho (Fenerbahçe)

Mourinho stated after the match that his team did not struggle to build play but could not convert chances due to Göztepe’s excellent organization. He noted that Göztepe’s reduction to ten men did not change the dynamics, as their defensive intensity remained high.

Mourinho added that his team found it difficult to apply pressure due to Göztepe’s long-ball approach and considered the result fair. He expressed disappointment that his side failed to show sufficient creativity in the final third.

Second Half

Alanyaspor started the second half with greater intent. In the 54th minute, Güven Yalçın fired a long-range shot from near the halfway line, catching goalkeeper Erdem Canpolat off guard. The ball narrowly went wide, making this Alanyaspor’s most significant chance of the second half.

As the match progressed, both teams adopted a more balanced, defensive approach. Ball losses and passing errors disrupted attacking continuity. Substitutions made by both managers occasionally raised the tempo, but there was no significant increase in shots on target.

Corendon Alanyaspor - Çaykur Rizespor Match (AA)

Gençlerbirliği 0–1 Antalyaspor

In the second matchweek of the Trendyol Süper Lig, Gençlerbirliği hosted Antalyaspor at the Eryaman Stadium. The away team, Antalyaspor, won 1–0. Tümosan Konyaspor 3–0 Gaziantep FK

In the second matchweek of the Trendyol Süper Lig, Tümosan Konyaspor defeated Gaziantep FK 3–0 at home, starting the season with two wins from two matches. At the MEDAŞ Konya Metropolitan Stadium, the home team showcased an effective performance with three goals, while the visitors remained winless.

First Half

The first dangerous opportunity came in the 10th minute from Gaziantep FK. After a corner, a scramble in front of goal saw N’Diaye’s shot saved by goalkeeper Deniz Ertaş. Eight minutes later, Konyaspor took the lead. Alassane Ndao struck a powerful shot from outside the penalty area following a pass from Adil Demirbağ, sending the ball into the net.

In the remaining minutes of the first half, Konyaspor increased pressure in search of a second goal. In the 40th minute, Umut Nayir’s shot from Ndao’s cross on the right flank narrowly went wide.

Second Half

Konyaspor started the second half with the same intensity. In the 49th minute, they came very close to scoring. Umut Nayir’s shot from Ndao’s cross on the right flank was saved by goalkeeper Zafer Görgen. However, this pressure paid off in the 51st minute. Again from the right flank, Danijel Aleksic received Ndao’s low cross and fired a one-touch shot into the net from in front of goal.

The third goal came in the 83rd minute. Yhoan Andzouana, playing behind the defense, received the ball in a one-on-one situation and finished calmly to seal the victory.

Tümosan Konyaspor - Gaziantep FK Match (AA)

RAMS Başakşehir 1–1 Zecorner Kayserispor

The match between RAMS Başakşehir and Zecorner Kayserispor in Istanbul ended in a 1–1 draw. Both teams earned their first points of the season, with the first half featuring numerous chances.

First Half

In the 14th minute, Da Costa of the home team shot from outside the penalty area on the right flank, and the ball went out for a corner. In the 28th minute, Da Costa’s curling free kick from the edge of the penalty area was tipped onto the crossbar by goalkeeper Bilal Bayazıt. In the 40th minute, Brnic received a pass from Da Costa, cut inside from the left flank, and shot from a central position, but the ball narrowly missed the target.

In the 41st minute, RAMS Başakşehir took the lead. Following a pass from Shomurodov inside the penalty area, Onur Ergün found himself on the right side of the six-yard box and laid the ball back to Brnic, who headed it into the empty net. RAMS Başakşehir ended the first half leading 1–0.

Second Half

In the 62nd minute, RAMS Başakşehir created a chance from the right flank. Deniz Türüç’s cross led to a header by Jerome Opoku that went into the net, and referee Kadir Sağlam awarded the goal. However, after VAR review, the goal was disallowed because the ball had touched Opoku’s hand.

In the 68th minute, Zecorner Kayserispor equalized. Cardoso received a pass from Aaron Opoku on the left side of the penalty area and struck a shot from just left of the penalty spot. The ball deflected off defender Duarte and deceived goalkeeper Muhammed Şengezer to find the net.

No further goals were scored, and the match ended 1–1.

RAMS Başakşehir - Zecorner Kayserispor Match (AA)

Beşiktaş 2–1 Eyüpspor

In the second matchweek of the Trendyol Süper Lig, played at the Tüpraş Stadium, Beşiktaş defeated Eyüpspor 2–1 at home. The black-and-white team made their first appearance of the season after not playing in the first matchweek, while Eyüpspor suffered their second consecutive defeat.

First Half

Beşiktaş started the match at a high tempo and created their first serious chance in the 11th minute with a shot by Rashica following a press by Rafa Silva. In the 17th minute, referee Halil Umut Meler awarded a penalty after Robin Yalçın fouled Orkun Kökçü inside the penalty area. In the 19th minute, Abraham converted the penalty to give Beşiktaş a 1–0 lead.

Eyüpspor responded in the 29th minute. From a corner taken by Kerem Demirbay, the ball deflected off Claro and was headed into the net by Mame Thiam to make it 1–1.

Second Half

Beşiktaş dominated possession in the second half and created numerous goal-scoring opportunities. In the 61st minute, Rafa Silva’s shot from outside the penalty area was saved by goalkeeper Felipe. In the 71st minute, Rafa Silva again failed to convert a clear chance.

In the 76th minute, Joao Mario’s shot deflected off the defense, and Felipe saved Uduokhai’s follow-up header.

The decisive moment came in the 90+6th minute. Following a long pass from Paulista, Rafa Silva ran into the penalty area from the right flank and fired a precise shot into the net to secure the win.

Beşiktaş - Eyüpspor Match (AA)

Kasımpaşa 0–1 Trabzonspor

In the closing match of the second matchweek of the 2025–26 Trendyol Süper Lig, Kasımpaşa hosted Trabzonspor at the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Stadium. The away team, Trabzonspor, won 1–0 and finished the matchweek with three points.

First Half

Both teams struggled to create clear chances in the first half. In the 37th minute, Kasımpaşa launched a quick counterattack, sending a long ball behind the defense to Ali Yavuz Kol, who could not beat the Trabzonspor defenders. This was one of the most notable chances of the first half.

Trabzonspor created a promising opportunity in the 40th minute. Following a quick counterattack initiated by Onuachu’s pass, Visca’s shot was deflected by Ben Ouanes. The first half ended goalless.

Second Half

The tempo increased in the second half, and Trabzonspor began creating more chances. In the 75th minute, Zubkov, who came on as a substitute for Visca, fired a shot that struck the post. On the rebound, Felipe Augusto, who was in position, finished calmly to put Trabzonspor ahead 1–0.

In the 90th minute, Batista Mendy had a chance to double the lead for Trabzonspor, but his shot narrowly went wide.
