Truth or Dare is a 2018 teen horror film featuring supernatural elements. Plot

The film begins with Olivia and her group of friends traveling to Mexico for spring break. There, they meet a stranger named Carter, who takes them to an abandoned church and invites them to play “Truth or Dare.” The game quickly spirals into a supernatural curse directed by a malevolent entity. Those who refuse to play or lie are punished in supernatural ways. To survive, the group must reveal their secrets and complete dangerous dares. As the characters’ hidden truths and relationships are exposed, the tension escalates.

Production and Filming

Truth or Dare was produced as part of Blumhouse Productions’ series of low-budget horror films. Principal photography took place primarily in California, with Mexico-based scenes created using sets and CGI. The film’s score was composed by Matthew Margeson. Jeff Wadlow also co-wrote the screenplay. Made with a budget of $3.5 million, the film earned nearly $90 million worldwide at the box office.
