Türkiye's Performance in the 67 kg Category at the 2025 European Weightlifting Championship

2025 European Weightlifting Championship is the weight class in which men competed at 67 kilograms, with Türkiye winning one gold, two silverassistantsilver and one bronze medal. These competitions, held in the disciplines of snatch, clean and jerk, and total lift, took place in 2025 in Chișinău, the capital of Moldova, under the auspices of the Europe Weightlifting Federation and April.

Organization and Achievements

The 2025 European Weightlifting Championships were held from 13 to 21 April in Chișinău, Moldova. Türkiye was represented by athletes in various weight categories. In the men’s 67 kg category, two national athletes competed: Kaan Kahriman and Ferdi Hardal.

The competition followed standard weightlifting format, consisting of two disciplines: snatch and clean and jerk, with results evaluated separately and combined for the total lift.

On 15 April 2025, Kaan Kahriman lifted 146 kilograms in the snatch to win gold and 170 kilograms in the clean and jerk to win silver. With a total of 316 kilograms, he became European champion.

Ferdi Hardal, in the same category, lifted 140 kilograms in the snatch to win silver and 165 kilograms in the clean and jerk to win bronze. With a total of 305 kilograms, he finished third in Europe. Thus, Türkiye won a total of four medals in this weight class.

Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak, in a statement issued on 15 April 2025, congratulated the athletes competing in the men’s 67 kg category. I also congratulate Ferdi Hardal, who won two silver and one bronze medal in the men’s 67 kg category to finish third in Europe.”
