UNCHARTED™: The Thieves' Legacy Collection (Video Game)

UNCHARTED: The Thieves’ Legacy Collection is an action-adventure game bundle developed by Naughty Dog LLC and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2022. This collection includes technically and visually enhanced versions of the previously PlayStation 4 released games UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End and UNCHARTED: The Lost Legacy, optimized for modern platforms. The bundle brings together the single-player narrative adventures of both titles.

Content and Stories

This collection features two distinct games. The first, UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End, centers on the adventures of Nathan Drake, the series’ main protagonist. Having retired from treasure hunting, Drake is drawn back into the world when his brother Sam, long believed dead, reappears. Together, they embark on a global quest spanning from Madagascar to snow-capped peaks in search of the legendary pirate utopia Libertalia and its hidden treasure. The second game, UNCHARTED: The Lost Legacy, follows Chloe Frazer as the lead character. To prevent a ruthless warlord from acquiring the legendary “Ganesh’s Ivory Tusk,” Chloe teams up with mercenary Nadine Ross. This adventure takes players to exotic locations including cities, jungles, and ancient ruins in the Western Ghats of India.

Gameplay Mechanics and Structure

UNCHARTED: The Thieves’ Legacy Collection preserves the original gameplay mechanics of both titles. The games feature a structure that blends cinematic combat sequences, exploration in expansive and vertical environments, platforming, and puzzle-solving. UNCHARTED 4 introduced the grappling hook mechanic to the series, making movement in vertical spaces and combat sequences more dynamic. Players engage enemies using a variety of tactics including cover-based shooting, close-quarters combat, and stealth. The collection adds no new content to these core gameplay elements; instead, it presents the existing experience with technical enhancements. Both games offer a narrative progression that seamlessly integrates character-driven storytelling with action-packed set pieces.

PC Version and Technical Specifications

The PC version of the collection includes a range of platform-specific technical improvements. Graphically, it supports 4K resolution and 21:9 ultra-wide monitors. Players can customize various graphical settings including texture and model quality, shadows, reflections, and ambient occlusion. To enhance performance, temporal upscaling technologies such as AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution 2 (FSR 2) are supported. For controls, full customization of keyboard and mouse inputs is provided, alongside full compatibility with DualSense (which offers haptic feedback and dynamic trigger effects via wired connection), DualShock 4, and other XInput-based gamepads. The PC version also includes quality-of-life improvements such as an enhanced user interface and variable loading times.
