Plot

The film explores the tragic love story between Halil, a married greengrocer living in Istanbul, and Sabiha, a pavilion singer. Halil meets Sabiha one evening when, under pressure from friends, he steps outside his routine and monotonous life. A strong bond quickly forms between them. Despite warnings from her friend Müjgan, Sabiha invites Halil to live with her, and they begin sharing a life together. However, Halil hides from Sabiha the fact that he is married. When the truth comes to light, Sabiha suffers a profound sense of betrayal. Realizing he cannot abandon his family, Halil is forced to distance himself from Sabiha in order to make her lose interest in him.

Vesikalı Yarim examines the theme of impossible love through a relationship that society refuses to accept.
