What Remains of You (film)

Senden Bana Kalan is a 2015 Turkish film in the drama and romance genres. Directed by Abdullah Oğuz and written by Levent Kazak, the film stars Ekin Koç and Neslihan Atagül in the leading roles. The story follows Özgür, a young man who loses his family at an early age and must accept the condition of living in a village to inherit his grandfather’s estate. There, he confronts rural life and forms an emotional bond with Elif, a girl he meets. The film is an adaptation of the South Korean movie A Millionaire’s First Love and explores the inner transformation of a city-bred youth.

Plot

Senden Bana Kalan tells the story of Özgür, a wealthy young man who loses his family at an early age. When he turns 18, he inherits a large fortune from his grandfather; however, to claim it, he must fulfill a specific condition: he must leave behind his comfortable life in Istanbul and complete his high school education at a state school in a village on the Aegean coast. In this compulsory relocation, he meets Elif, a quiet and mysterious teenage girl. Initially struggling to adapt, Özgür gradually learns the true meanings of life, simplicity, and love through his relationship with Elif.
