Career Journey and Clubs

• FC Basel (2003–2014): Sommer began his professional career at Basel, where he was developed through the club’s youth academy. He won four Swiss Super League titles and one Swiss Cup with Basel.
• FC Vaduz (2007–2009): On loan from Basel, he played for the Liechtenstein club Vaduz. With Vaduz, he won one Liechtenstein Cup and one Swiss Challenge League title.
• Grasshoppers (2009–2010): Another loan spell from Basel saw him play for Grasshoppers.

National Team Career
