Dalkılıç’s international rise in freediving began with her victory in the women’s category at the 1st World Freediving Championship held in Italy in 1998. Following this achievement she entered a professional collaboration with coach Rudi Castineyra and embarked on a systematic preparation process.
Her key records in chronological order are as follows:

Dalkılıç’s achievements were supported by a physiology-based training system. Methods posing critical risks such as hyperventilation were rejected in favor of slow and deep breathing techniques. The training process consists of three main phases: general conditioning sport-specific strength training and pressure adaptation. Additionally a recovery protocol involving inhalation of pure oxygen (O2) at a depth of five metres was applied after dives.
Dalkılıç played a pioneering role in establishing collaboration between freediving and the media. Her records were the first in the world to be broadcast live from depth to surface and featured on channels such as Eurosport National Geographic and Discovery Channel. In later years of her career she emerged as an environmental advocate and produced a six-part documentary series titled “Incredible Dives of the World” aiming to raise awareness about ocean pollution and the destruction of coral reefs. She is also active in music composition for underwater productions and computer programming.
Dalkılıç married her coach Rudi Castineyra in 2003 and is the mother of two children. After overcoming a serious health issue pancreatic tumor during her professional career she successfully completed treatment and returned to sports and her projects.
