Yoroz City Forest

Yoroz Urban Forest is an urban forest located within the boundaries of the Saraycık Neighborhood in the Altınordu district of Ordu province, Türkiye, opened for recreational use while preserving its natural structure. The area, approximately 15–20 kilometers from the city center of Ordu, is a natural space featuring biodiversity in flora and fauna along with designated walking and observation paths.^【1】

The forested area covers approximately 32 hectares.^【3】 The terrain is generally sloping and locally steep. These topographic features have led to the formation of distinct elevation zones within the area.

Its elevation ranges from approximately 730 meters above sea level to a maximum of 900 meters.^【4】 The summit offers a commanding position that enables panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

Yoroz Urban Forest hosts an ecosystem shaped by the Black Sea climate zone, encompassing diverse plant cover and wildlife. The vegetation consists of tree and shrub species adapted to humid climatic conditions and forms the foundational elements sustaining the forest’s continuity.

Variations in plant cover are observed across different elevation levels. The elevation difference of approximately 900 meters above sea level generates microclimatic shifts, which are among the key factors influencing the distribution of plant species.^【6】 The sloping and locally steep terrain is another determining factor affecting the density and distribution of vegetation.
