Ziraat Turkey Cup 2024-2025 Semi-Final Stage

The Ziraat Türkiye Cup 2024-2025 season reached its semifinal stage after two matches played on 22 and 24 April 2025. In this phase, Galatasaray faced TÜMOSAN Konyaspor and Trabzonspor faced Göztepe in a single-leg knockout format. At the end of these matches, Galatasaray and Trabzonspor advanced to the final.

Competition Schedule

The dates and program for the semifinal matches of the Ziraat Türkiye Cup 2024-2025 season were announced to the public by the Turkish Football Federation on 21 April 2025. The semifinal stage was organized to be completed within two days.

The first match was played on Tuesday, 22 April 2025, at the Konya MEDAŞ Metropolitan Municipality Stadium between TÜMOSAN Konyaspor and Galatasaray. The second semifinal match took place on Thursday, 24 April 2025, at Trabzon Papara Park between Trabzonspor and Göztepe. Both matches kicked off at 20:30 local time.

At this stage, the tournament format was set as a single-leg knockout system; in the event of a draw, extra time and, if necessary, penalty shootouts would be used. The home teams for the semifinals were determined based on performance in the group and quarterfinal stages; Trabzonspor and TÜMOSAN Konyaspor played as the home sides.

The referees for the matches were appointed by the Turkish Football Federation Central Referee Committee. Accordingly, Abdullah Buğra Taşkınsoy officiated the match between TÜMOSAN Konyaspor and Galatasaray, while Cihan Aydın was appointed for the Trabzonspor vs Göztepe match. Due to a health issue during the first match, a referee change was made and Ali Yılmaz took charge on the field.

Following the completion of the semifinal stage, the Turkish Football Federation announced that the final match would be held on Wednesday, 14 May 2025 at 20:45 at Gaziantep Stadium, and would be played as a single match on a neutral venue.

TÜMOSAN Konyaspor – Galatasaray Match

The first match of the Ziraat Türkiye Cup semifinal stage was played on 22 April 2025 at the Konya MEDAŞ Metropolitan Municipality Stadium between TÜMOSAN Konyaspor and Galatasaray. The match was scheduled to begin at 20:30 local time but was delayed due to a last-minute referee change. The game commenced under the supervision of fourth official Ali Yılmaz; Raşit Yorgancılar was appointed as the fourth official.

In the 25th minute, Victor Osimhen headed home a cross from the right flank by Dries Mertens to give Galatasaray a 1-0 lead. In the 41st minute, Lucas Torreira finished off a rebound from Osimhen’s header following another right-wing cross by Sallai, extending the score to 2-0. The first half ended with this scoreline.

Second Half Developments

In the 47th minute, Sallai scored Galatasaray’s third goal with a shot from outside the penalty area. Trabzonspor – Göztepe Match

The second match of the Ziraat Türkiye Cup semifinal stage was played on 24 April 2025 at the Papara Park Stadium in Trabzon between Trabzonspor and Göztepe. The match kicked off at 20:30 and was officiated by Cihan Aydın.

First Half Developments

The first half ended goalless. In the 6th minute, Ogün Bayrak’s shot following a pass from Romulo went out of bounds. In the 9th minute, Göztepe came close to scoring with a header from Ogün Bayrak, but Savic cleared the ball off the line. In the 11th minute, Trabzonspor launched a quick counterattack and Zubkov’s shot from inside the penalty area was saved by goalkeeper Arda Özçimen.

In the 30th minute, Banza’s header from a pass by Nwakaeme went out of bounds. In the 42nd minute, Savic’s header from a corner kick went over the crossbar.

Second Half Developments

At the start of the second half, in the 48th minute, during a Trabzonspor attack, Nwakaeme’s shot struck Heliton’s arm, prompting the referee to award a penalty. In the 55th minute, Banza’s penalty kick was saved by goalkeeper Arda Özçimen.

In the 60th minute, Romulo’s free kick from Göztepe was blocked by goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır. In the 61st minute, Emerson’s header from a corner kick by Tijanic was also saved by Uğurcan Çakır.

In the 78th minute, Trabzonspor took a 1-0 lead after Ozan Tufan scored from outside the penalty area following a corner kick taken from the right flank. In the 89th minute, Zubkov, who connected with a pass from Nwakaeme inside the penalty area, scored the second goal.

In the 90+2nd minute, Trabzonspor had a chance after a free kick taken by Sikan was saved by the goalkeeper and rebounded toward Visca, whose attempt struck the post. The match ended with a 2-0 victory for Trabzonspor, securing the bordo-mavili team’s place in the final of the Ziraat Türkiye Kupası.

Final Matchup

The final matchup of the 2024-2025 Ziraat Türkiye Kupası was determined after Galatasaray and Trabzonspor won their respective semifinal matches. The Turkish Football Federation has announced that the final will be held on Wednesday, 14 May 2025 at 20:45 at Gaziantep Stadium.
