Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University

Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University is a non-profit foundation university, established in 2007 in Istanbul, with a thematic focus on health sciences. The founding body of the institution is the Acıbadem Health and Education Foundation. The primary mission of the university is to conduct educational, research, and applied activities particularly in the field of health sciences, while cultivating highly qualified human resources at both national and international levels.

Establishment and Academic Structure

Acıbadem University commenced its educational activities in 2009 and is closely integrated with the healthcare sector. The institution was founded upon the extensive expertise and experience accumulated by the Acıbadem Health Group over more than 30 years. Its main campus, the Kerem Aydınlar Campus, is located in Ataşehir, Istanbul.

International Programs and Erasmus+

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ Exchange Program, Acıbadem University has bilateral agreements with numerous universities across Europe, including institutions in Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Poland, and Greece. Students are provided with opportunities to study abroad for one semester or undertake research internships in affiliated institutes.

Academic Opportunities

Language of Instruction: Undergraduate programs are offered in both Turkish and English. Students who do not meet the required level of English proficiency are enrolled in an intensive English Preparatory Program.

Double Major / Minor Programs: Successful students meeting the academic criteria may pursue a double major leading to a second undergraduate degree or a minor program resulting in a certificate.

Simulation Center – CASE

One of the most distinctive units of Acıbadem University is the Clinical Simulation and Advanced Endoscopic-Robotic Surgery Training Center (CASE). It is the only simulation center in Europe accredited by both NASCE and SSIH, and it holds the designation of Global Training Center in robotic surgery.

Laboratories and Research Centers

The university hosts a wide range of applied laboratories in areas such as physiotherapy, radiology, pathology, microscopy, molecular biology, and opticianry. Prominent research and application centers include:

Social and Cultural Facilities

Students actively participate in more than 50 student clubs covering social, artistic, cultural, and academic fields, including music, theater, photography, EMSA, MUN, chess, and environmental studies. The Kerem Aydınlar Campus is distinguished by its modern architecture and accessible location. Separate male and female dormitories are located within walking distance of the campus.

Career Opportunities

The university provides mandatory internship opportunities and part-time employment positions within Acıbadem Health Group hospitals. Graduates are given priority for employment within the group. Additionally, students benefit from training in interview techniques, presentation skills, and career counseling.

Acıbadem University utilizes Atakent Hospital and Maslak Hospital as its training and research hospitals. These facilities are multidisciplinary centers serving hundreds of thousands of patients annually.

Graduate Education

Graduate programs are offered within the Institutes of Health Sciences, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences. Master’s and doctoral programs are available in disciplines such as Clinical Psychology, Nursing, Medical Biotechnology, and Neuroscience.
